LOCATION & JOB DETAILS

This position can be performed 100% remotely from home or on a hybrid-based arrangement from any US-based EDF office.

OVERALL FUNCTION

Climate Corps® (www.edfclimatecorps.org) is a network of professionals united to advance climate solutions. This network is grounded in an innovative summer fellowship program, which embeds trained graduate students in companies, cities and universities across the U.S., China and India to accelerate and advance climate goals. With a network of over 2,500 professionals, Climate Corps seeks to accelerate the transition to a low-carbon energy system by inspiring and empowering leaders.

A key contributor to the Global Climate Corps team, the Senior Manager will be responsible for high-level management of the U.S. Climate Corps fellowship program and will lead on special projects. They will manage several full-time Climate Corps staff and oversee the staff’s workstreams to ensure coordination and effective execution of projects in alignment with the program’s overall goals and strategy. The Senior Manager will also contribute to program strategy, fundraising, budget and personnel decisions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversee operations of the U.S. Climate Corps fellowship program, ensuring that workstream leads are in coordination with each other, project goals and strategy align with overall program goals, deadlines are met, systems and processes are in place, and outcomes are evaluated for continuous improvement;
• Supervise 4-6 full-time Climate Corps staff, assigning, directing, and supporting their work and evaluating their performance. Oversee their workstreams and projects including but not limited to:
  • All aspects of relationship management operations, implementation check-ins, fellow cohorts, fellow technical resources development and maintenance, fellow training, fellow recruitment and matching, host recruitment, final deliverables collection, analysis and reporting, data management and program evaluation.
• Stay abreast of current trends in corporate sustainability and ESG, ensuring that the program is advancing EDF’s goals while meeting the needs of the market, including increasing the alignment between fellow projects and EDF priorities, and developing new strategies and/or partnerships as needed;
• Contribute to Climate Corps’ DEIJ initiative including strategy development and implementation, the DEIJ working group, collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, annual reporting, engaging consultants and staying current with best practices in the field;
• Coordinate with Marketing and Communications, ensuring program needs are met, and contribute to thought leadership strategy and program reports as needed;
• In close collaboration with the Senior Director, Climate Corps, act as a key contributor to program fundraising activities, budgeting, global strategic planning, and personnel decisions;
• Contribute to program metrics including evaluating metrics and setting targets;
• Participate in advancing EDF DEI goals in which people from all backgrounds and experiences feel connected, included, and empowered to address the environmental and organizational challenges in alignment with EDF values.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of experience in the corporate or non-profit sectors, or master’s degree and 6+ years of experience;
• Master’s degree in business, environment, or other relevant field preferred;
• 2+ years of experience managing staff and leading project teams, with some experience managing staff both virtually and in-person;
• Proficiency in the use of PCs, Microsoft Office suite and Salesforce.com, or another CRM equivalent;
• Ability to travel up to 10-15% per year (as appropriate given evolving COVID situations).
• Work experience with fellowship, internship, or other early-career-professional program management;
• Knowledge of corporate sustainability and the business implications of environmental issues;
• Highly effective written and oral communication skills, including public speaking, and the ability to articulate and advocate for programmatic priorities among companies, senior leadership, and other audiences;
• Excellent project management skills, attention to detail and organization skills;
• An ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic, and professional environment;
• Demonstrates self-awareness, cultural competency and inclusivity, and ability to work with colleagues and stakeholders across diverse cultures and backgrounds;

USD $100,000.00/Yr.

Maximum Salary

USD $112,000.00/Yr.
