ELEVATE is looking for Lead Assessor for Japan office with an excellent opportunity to work in a multinational organization, that is growing consistently and rapidly. A lead / senior assessor will be expected to review and analyze facility practices against local laws, client codes of conduct (COC), and best practices at a social compliance assessment. A social compliance assessment is to assess the labor, environmental, health & safety conditions, business ethics in manufacturing settings across industries, such as food, apparel, and electronics etc.

Responsibilities

The specific roles and responsibilities of a lead / senior assessor are outlined as below:

  • Conduct pre-assessment calls and communications with facility;
  • Perform social compliance assessment based on confirmed schedule with the following processes;
    • Conduct opening meeting with management outlining assessment scope and client expectations,
    • Interview management to understand facility practices,
    • Conduct facility walkthrough to observe facility practices,
    • Review documentation that demonstrates facility practices,
    • Interview workers in a sensitive but impartial way to verify and explore facility practices,
    • Triangulate data across different data sources to come up with a consolidated conclusion on facility practices,
    • Present results to facility management in a sensitive and transparent way at closing meeting.
  • Write comprehensive report after each assessment in English as well as Japanese, in a timely and accurate manner;
  • Perform root cause analysis and support facility develop corrective action plan (CAP) on assessment findings;
  • Provide client and facility necessary clarification in a professional, timely, and accurate manner as needed.
  • Meet ELEVATE quality performance KPIs.
  • Support other projects as assigned by the company, such as client meetings, workshops, facility consulting, etc.

Qualifications

  • University graduate, major in Law, Safety engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemical, Textile or electronic related discipline.
  • Three years or above CSR related, facility consulting or EHS management working experience.
  • Good command of reading, writing and speaking of English.
  • Familiar with Japanese labor, health and safety, and environmental laws and regulations.
  • Ability to travel frequently.
  • Effective problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Proactive, open-minded, good at learning, able to work under pressure with a strong sense of responsibility and teamwork.
  • Uphold Highest standards on integrity and ethics.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • APSCA, BSCI, RBA (EICC) accredited auditor is preferred.
