Senior Knowledge Management Advisor
Overview:
Itad is seeking a Senior Knowledge Management Advisor to join our team for the USAID STRengthening Infectious disease DEtection Systems (STRIDES) Activity. This strategic role is pivotal in developing and executing knowledge management strategies to enhance organizational capabilities, foster innovation, and support continuous learning throughout the lifetime of the activity. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in capturing, managing, and leveraging knowledge assets to achieve both tactical and strategic goals.
Purpose:
The purpose of the STRengthening Infectious disease DEtection Systems (STRIDES) Activity is to support host country partners to enhance the capacity of national and sub-national laboratory networks and surveillance systems; develop and strengthen data collection, analysis, and reporting relating to surveillance and detection systems; and, provide technical support during outbreaks for detection, surveillance, and data analysis and management.
Responsibilities include:
- Leading communication and learning activities, including managing the STRIDES website and producing communication materials.
- Maintaining and providing recommendations to improve KM guidance and tools.
- Developing and implementing comprehensive knowledge management strategies aligned with STRIDES' objectives.
- Facilitate effective knowledge capture, management, and dissemination to support infectious disease detection and response.
- Work closely with global and local partners to ensure knowledge sharing and capacity building in line with One Health approaches and USAID’s Global Health Security objectives.
- Providing technical KM support to partners and local organizations.
- Facilitating the capture, sharing, and effective use of organizational knowledge.
- Enhancing collaboration among staff and partners and promoting knowledge sharing and community building.
- Identifying, documenting, and promoting best practices and lessons learned.
- Integrating CLA processes to support USAID’s learning agenda, emphasizing local partner contributions to infectious disease detection.
- Providing training and support to staff and local partners, ensuring active participation in knowledge sharing.
- Evaluating the effectiveness of knowledge management initiatives and making necessary adjustments.
- Acting as a change agent to foster a culture that values knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in a relevant field
- 10+ years’ experience in research and analysis, communication, or knowledge management, preferably on USAID-funded projects.
- Demonstrated expertise in developing and implementing knowledge management strategies and familiarity with relevant tools and technologies.
- Exceptional communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Proven ability to lead change and influence organizational culture towards embracing knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
- Proven ability to develop communications for diverse audiences and create various learning and communication products.
- Strong cross-cultural collaboration skills and experience with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in international contexts, sensitive to cultural and language differences.
- Familiarity with USAID public health programming and localization approaches.
- Fluent in English, with proficiency in additional languages preferred.
This role is critical in leveraging knowledge management to enhance organizational performance, innovation, and strategic goals alignment, particularly in improving global health security through local and international collaboration.
US citizenship required for the role. Location is remote, some travel may be required as needed. This Senior Knowledge Management Advisor position is contingent upon Itad's successful award of the STRIDES Activity contract. The commencement of this role is subject to Itad securing the necessary funding from USAID.
