Who are we?
Svante is a rapidly growing clean energy technology company making commercial-scale carbon capture and removal a reality and enabling global industries to play offense in the fight against climate change that will accelerate the global transition to a lower-carbon economy. The growing success of our company is owed to our commitment to our people, our emphasis on our values, and our innovative technology. Passion is put into what we do every day.
The role: Senior Instrument, Control and Electrical Technician
Who are you?
The heart of Svante’s Carbon Capture Technology involves directing various gas streams to adsorbent beds. These gas streams are required to switch as the adsorbent beds progress through each phase of a full cycle. Connecting the gas flows to the adsorbent beds is achieved by motivating and controlling a Rotary Adsorbent Machine. In this machine, the beds are connected to a rotor that passes through the various gas streams. The control and motivation of this rotor in response to instrumentation is critical to the success of a Svante carbon capture system and is therefore designated as a core center of competency.
The Instrumentation Controls and Electrical Technician (ICET) will be responsible for electrical, controls, and instrumentation installation and modification of Svante Rotary Adsorbent Machines (RAM’s). The ICET will have demonstrated experience with the implementation of these systems on equipment of similar scale and complexity.
The ICET will assist with the installation of high voltage electrical equipment such as drives and motors to include running cables, terminating connections, and troubleshooting. These same responsibilities will also apply to low voltage applications such as PLC and I/O wiring.
The key responsibility of the ICET will be the fabrication and modification of various types of electrical enclosures ranging to include high voltage, low voltage, I/O, and PLC. These enclosures will range in size and complexity, and decisions on how best to implement changes may come down to the discretion in some situations. The ICET will be expected to be comfortable making independent decisions on the best past forward when the situation permits.
Working within the framework of Svante Values and Goals the ICET will be responsible for installations and troubleshooting and will be expected to not just install according to drawings and instructions but be able to troubleshoot installation issues, report problems, and concerns, suggest solutions and implement solutions. The ICET may also be required to lead and direct teams of other technicians when the situation requires addressing the questions of other technicians and directing them on tasks.
In some situations, the ICET may be asked to assist with project documentation tasks including documenting design changes, especially those that occur during installation. The ICET may also be asked to advise and give input on design decisions made by the other members of the ICE team, this includes an emphasis on the idea of design for installation and design changes that will improve installation.
