OVERALL FUNCTION
The Senior Health Scientist advises program staff on a breadth of scientific issues relevant to EDF’s Global Clean Air strategic initiative and works to translate complex scientific findings into actionable ideas that can help advance our goals. The Global Clean Air Initiative seeks to design the next generation of impactful clean air solutions needed around the world, by scaling up new methods and analytics to make the invisible visible and paint a comprehensive picture of air pollution sources and health impacts. The Sr. Health Scientist introduces, integrates and advises on cutting edge environmental health concepts and insights as needed to support EDF's organizational priorities. The Sr. Health Scientist is responsible for supporting EDF’s reputation as a center for high caliber science work by building scientific collaborations, initiating new lines of research on issues relevant to our Global Clean Air work, and upholding and preserving the scientific integrity and quality of EDF’s advocacy.
JOB LOCATION
This role can be performed 100% remotely or on a hybrid arrangement out of any EDF office located in the US or out of our La Paz, Mexico office. Candidates from other select Latin American countries outside of Mexico may be considered with exception.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide scientific oversight and support to core strategies within EDF’s Global Clean Air initiative that aim to have more people breathing cleaner air through building awareness and understanding of air pollution and its health impacts, with a focus on reducing disparities.
