About You
 
You are an engineer experienced with investigating and remediating contaminated sites in the New York City area. Your experience ranges from soil and groundwater remediation to vapor intrusion mitigation. You have strong knowledge and application of New York State regulations, especially Part 375, and you know the Federal Superfund program.  Almost as strong as your regulatory knowledge is your financial cost estimating skill. As lifelong learner, you want to keep growing intellectually and professionally. You know how to prepare winning proposals and exceed clients’ expectations. About the Job
 
The job entails managing brownfield sites from initial acquisition to regulatory closure. It starts with Phase I ESAs; then to investigations of soil, groundwater, and soil vapor; into remedial alternatives analyses and design; through construction and to regulatory closure. You will have direct contact with clients and regulators as you and your team navigate various regulatory frameworks. In addition, you will support our industrial clients with various environmental matters and you will help with litigation projects across the country.
 
Responsibilities

As a Senior Engineer/Consultant, your job functions will include, but not be limited to:

• Performing site characterization studies, feasibility studies, and engineering analyses
• Preparing sealed design plans and specifications
• Providing permitting support
• Developing financial analyses and cost estimates
• Monitoring construction activities
• Completing project management tasks
• Written and verbal communication
• Work in GIS or AutoCAD.

Qualifications

• B.S. or M.S. degree in environmental, chemical, civil, or related engineering field.
• New York P.E. license (or eligibility).
• Minimum of 10 years of experience (mid-senior level) in characterization, management, and remediation of contaminated sites.
• Experience relating to groundwater, vapor intrusion, remediation design, the NYS Brownfield Cleanup Program, and construction management/oversight.  All New York experience should be included in resume or cover letter.
• Strong quantitative and problem solving skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• A desire to grow intellectually and professionally
• Demonstrated ability to work successfully within multidisciplinary and diverse teams
• AutoCAD skills are a bonus
