In this position, you will be responsible for:
- Managing the platform’s life cycle (family of engines) in collaboration with Product Line Management (PLM) and engineering team including the definition of product and technology strategies.
- Ensuring the Life Cycle performance of the engine platform (performance, costs, reliability, lifecycle cost) meets product requirements.
- Ensuring product development projects meet technical and product lifecycle cost requirements.
- Ensuring that technical risks and reliability concerns are highlighted, managed to an acceptable level with fully documented technical and mitigation evidence.
- Leading engine systems development and integration including ownership of technical decision-making taken on the product.
- Engineering release of product changes that meet requirements following technical review. Approves release of design (hardware and software) into Product Lifecycle Management system.
- Defining the IP strategy for the engine platform in collaboration with engineering team.
- Monitoring the field performance of the engine platform and propose technical programs for improvements.
- Full product definition (specifications, drawings, Bill of Material) and product serial release.
- Collaborating with key partners from Global supply chain, Sourcing, Service, Sales, Product Line Management and Marketing acting as primary interface between cross-functional team and Engineering.
- Definition, tracking, and execution of product reliability projects
Your profile
- 4-year degree in Engineering from an accredited University or college
- Legal authorization to work in the US without sponsorship
- Minimum 10 years’ experience with new product development of Reciprocating engines
- Engine system integration: Demonstrated experience with cascading product, system and subsystem specifications from a Product Requirements Document.
- Effective Problem Solving: Able to develop comprehensive recommendations based on complex scenarios and realistic assumptions. Proactively puts solutions in place to ensure issues don’t re-appear.
- Decision making: Displays sound judgment in making critical decisions under pressure. Takes action when appropriate. Effectively leads team and organization through decision making process.
- Communications: Ability to present key information and engage in business led discussions with executive management. Proactively elevates key issues with proposed recommendations. Highly credible and persuasive.
- Consultative Skills/Strategic Agility: Articulately paints credible pictures and visions of possibilities and likelihoods.
- Leadership of teams: Creates strong morale and spirit within team and leading successful team efforts in large, complex programs
- Knowledge of analysis, design, development, and testing methodologies, including statistical tools. Proficient in identifying trends and themes from data
- Knowledge of industrial gas engine market and applications in the 1 to 5 MW power range preferred
