ABOUT THE ROLE
The 3Degrees Energy & Climate Practice, the consulting team at 3Degrees, helps organizations reduce their greenhouse gas emissions worldwide through carbon reduction, decarbonized transportation solutions and renewable energy. Our clients include some of the largest and most respected companies and utilities on the planet, as well as educational institutions and other non-profits.
This role will lead the Energy & Climate Practice’s US Power Markets business. 3Degrees’ consulting projects focus on envisioning and implementing renewable energy and climate solutions for large organizations. Our work focuses on reducing emissions from energy supplies - both electricity and thermal - and enabling growing organizations to adopt these solutions within robust sustainability programs. You will lead, guide, and develop a team focused on the day-to-day implementation of client engagements, and be responsible for client satisfaction and growth. You will work directly with our most important clients and ensure engagements exceed clients’ expectations and enhance our reputation in the market.
Our Senior Directors also collaborate internally with other business units to develop new clients, grow new markets, and innovate in new services. We expect our Senior Directors to be business partners in sales, marketing, policy, carbon and environmental markets teams.
This is a full-time position for qualified candidates who can work from a remote home office in the United States, with a willingness to travel periodically for team meetings and training_.

**WHAT YOU’LL DO
**
This position has four core functions:
Manage, mentor, and deliver on accounts and projects throughout our consulting practice, with a primary focus on renewable energy sourcing around the world for US-based clients
Manage strategy and analytical teams to deliver all aspects of project delivery for multiple projects; including scope, schedule, budget and client engagement
Mentor Directors and Managers to translate client needs into a scope, price, set of deliverables, and work tasks within 3Degrees’ consulting metrics
Oversee the delivery of client work products while managing team members assigned to the project
Provide expert analysis of project delivery risks, propose risk mitigation strategies, and identify opportunities for additional client support
Be accountable for client satisfaction, budget, operational excellence, project profitability, team performance and engagement, and new business development within your areas of influence
Work with Business Development teams to secure new clients and new scopes of work
Act as a consulting subject matter expert across our areas of expertise, partnering to develop scopes of work alongside BD and clients, pricing engagements, and reviewing proposals
Demonstrate executive presence, confidence and consultative selling skills in partnership with Business Development teams in order to effectively develop new business
Foster new business opportunities within existing clients – identifying areas of need and working with Business Development teams and clients to establish extensions, expansions, and new opportunities to serve
Participate and contribute to account planning for existing clients
Through reputation, contacts, and capability, increase our attractiveness to our targeted client base
Play a visible role in representing 3Degrees in industry forums
Support the development and execution of our marketing efforts by participating in thought leadership, speaking engagements and other opportunities to increase 3Degrees’ and our partners’ visibility, differentiation and reputation
Play an active role in the operational excellence and growth of our consulting Practice and our company

ABOUT YOU
You bring extensive renewable energy market expertise, proven, and recent management consulting expertise and are already recognized for your work in these areas on behalf of corporate buyers. You are a deal maker with deep industry contacts and a proven track record of successful contract negotiations in the power purchase agreement space. You are an exceptional manager of people with a real desire to grow and mentor a team of committed professionals. You excel at developing new opportunities and leading the day-to-day execution of the consulting team’s engagements in the areas of renewable energy and sustainability. You also have proven experience mentoring and leading teams to successful client outcomes in a collaborative, hard-working environment. You have the following:
