SUMMARY:
The Senior Director, Leadership & Learning is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive leadership and learning programs strategy that aligns with the GII strategic plan to develop & retain top talent for the Goodwill network.
BASIC FUNCTION:
• Lead the design, development and implementation of leadership development programs across disciplines and in alignment with GII’s strategic plan (which includes enrollment programs, digital events and in-person events). Ensure that offerings are integrated, blended and cost-efficient.
• Lead the design, development and operations of GII’s annual Goodwill Connect Conference.
• Lead operations in support of successful execution of Delegate Assembly and the Annual Meeting of the Conference of Executives.
• In partnership with GII’s Human Resources Team, lead the design, development and implementation of GII Team Member training & development programs.
• Collaborate with GII’s Talent Development team to identify, curate and create learning assets for Goodwill training content.
• Supervise and coach direct reports.
SPECIFIC DUTIES_1_:
• Collaborate across the Goodwill Academy Team to ensure that leadership development program operations support overall design of strategy.
• Coach and support the development of the learning team members in alignment with GII’s culture and values.
• Lead the evaluation strategy for leadership development programs. Analyze results from evaluations to further inform overall learning strategy.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to identify relevant content, capabilities and competencies that should be included in overall learning programs strategy and training content.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to identify faculty and speakers for learning programs. Identify and form alliances with training partners and faculty who offer learning opportunities that benefit Goodwill members.
• Collaborate with Training Manager and Chief Talent Officer to ensure that training content and content delivered through learning programs is consistent and complementary.
• Lead a successful annual selection, application and interview process for leadership development programs.
• Actively engage CEOs, EDP alumni and other senior staff in the learning activities of leadership development programs.
• Collaborate with Training Manager to maintain the Training & Development portion of the Goodwill website to ensure that the site is useful, fresh and engages members.
• Collaborate with Training Manager to maintain the leadership development portions of the Goodwill Academy learning management system to ensure that the site is useful and engages members.
• Collaborate with the Conference of Executives Leadership Development Committee and GII Team Members to develop content and tracking process in support of CEO and senior team member onboarding and development activities.
• Coordinate development, management and improvement of core processes to ensure effective, efficient delivery of services for in-person learning events, virtual training and enrollment programs.
• Facilitate learning programs as appropriate.
• Create, monitor and maintain budgets within established guidelines.
• Other duties as assigned.
RELATIONSHIPS:
• Internal: Frequent contact with GII CEO, Executive Team, directors and staff, and all staff in Talent Development Department.
• GII Members: Frequent contact with members at all levels and COE Leadership Development Committee.
• External: Learning and training professionals, vendors, associations and various trade groups.
• Governmental Officials: Occasional contact with various branches of government and international agencies.

SKILLS NEEDED_2_:
• Technical Skills
o Ability to translate member leadership development needs into a longrange educational strategy, prioritize development and execution of offerings and leverage team resources to accomplish GII’s learning goals.
o Extensive background in leadership development, organizational and curriculum development and program implementation.
o Thorough knowledge of educational principles and practices.
o Ability to build structure and processes to maximize GII’s resources in developing and executing leadership development solutions.
o The knowledge and ability to interact with the various forms of new media that will enhance and broaden the reach of the learning programs.
o An understanding of the workings of technology as it applies to website management to maximize the learning impact for the membership.
• Behavioral
o Team leader approach to work with the ability to lead teams, build consensus and facilitate outcomes.
o Ability to mentor staff and provide specific direction to assist them in accomplishing their goals.
o Serve as a sounding board for Leadership and Learning Team and other GII staff as they develop and implement leadership development services for members.

EDUCATION: Master’s (leadership development, organizational development, human resources, or related field).
EXPERIENCE: Ten years of proven experience in learning and training, with a focus on curriculum and/or organizational development. Experience with a corporate university environment preferred, particularly in the areas of executive development and/or providing a tiered training approach for multiple levels of learners. University faculty and adult learning expertise helpful.
