ELEVATE is looking for a senior and experienced professional to lead its North America sustainability consulting practice. The Senior Director, Advisory, North America will lead and coordinate a team of country directors and will be instrumental in the delivery of our global sustainability consulting strategy in North America. Responsibilities
Business Development (25%)
- Lead the development / implementation of a Advisory strategy and structure in North America
- Manage and develop sustainability consulting hubs / teams in the US with annual goals and targets
- Represent sustainability consulting in the US at cross-business line senior leadership team meetings
- Develop a client base including relationships with senior industry and business leaders in North America
- Manage and grow a pipeline of existing and new business in collaboration with country leaders in North America
- Pro-actively seek out opportunities to deliver high quality, innovative and impactful consultancy and program development for both sustainability and supply chain consulting opportunities
Delivery & Advisory (30%)
- Drive execution of strategic consulting programs in North America with visibility at the executive level
- Support team in detecting issues and investigating ways to resolve quickly as to not impact business development
- Assess team skill set to leverage the team’s ability and potential
Strategic Planning & Revenue Management (15%)
- Oversees sustainability consulting budget and forecast process in collaboration with country leads
- Represents ELEVATE as a thought leader at conferences and events, and; supports our Customer, Events and Marketing teams with world-class content
Leadership / Team Management (30%)
- Establish a working environment that enables self-learning, optimizing teams and succession planning
- Oversees goals and the development of country teams – specifically drive the One Consulting processes and ways of working into Sustainability Consulting North America
- Manages risks within area of responsibility and implements action plans for relevant deficiencies through proper resource planning and task/project prioritization
- Partners with consulting leaders to develop a career path for consultants and establishes a grow from within team mentality to retain talent and develop build a team of successful leaders
Qualifications
- 15+ years of experience in sustainability consulting/ Advisory and leading teams
- Extensive knowledge of the global sustainability landscape, with a special focus and understanding on North American markets, including experience of best practices and regional nuances
- Significant business development experience and comfort working to ambitious growth targets
- Evidence of managing and growing new markets, products and services
- Extensive experience managing teams and mentoring and supporting team members to realise full potential
- Has and applies emotional intelligence and manages conflicts for members in own organization
- Provides just-in-time feedback so that employees can reflect on your input immediately
- Extensive knowledge of sustainability strategy and related services
- Knowledge and experience of responsible sourcing / supply chain issues and challenges in emerging markets
- Strong mind-set for innovation, product development and responding to market drivers
- Evidence of successful project delivery to multiple clients (company, government, civil society)
- Proven team leadership, communication, networking and stakeholder engagement skills
- Track record for engaging internally and externally at senior executive and c-suite level
- Excellent written and verbal English, with a preference for one additional regional language
