Position Summary: The Senior Data Analyst is responsible for configuring, maintaining, and managing programmatic data associated with YG’s Evolve program. This position reports to the Manager of Evaluation for the Evolve program on YG's Evaluation & Quality Improvement team (EQI) and works in close collaboration with members of the Evolve team and Information Technology. This position leads efforts to build data collection systems for various data points, including survey responses, Social Emotional Learning assessments, academic outcomes, and more, and to manage that data through a data warehouse design. This includes developing ETL processes for compiling and organizing data from multiple data sources, calculating measures and metrics, and preparing data for reporting and analysis. This role is critical to ensuring the Evolve program has access to high-quality data for analysis and feedback cycles that support effective, data-driven implementation and sustainability of the Evolve program in partnering school districts.
Evolve is Youth Guidance’s capacity-building approach to scaling social-emotional learning circles to improve student outcomes and supportive school climates. Youth Guidance provides virtual training and coaching for a small team of school staff per school to facilitate Evolve circles while also providing virtual professional development to all school staff to support healing-centered, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive schools. Evolve Central, the program’s virtual learning platform, is a resource for school partners to access training and curricula, implementation supports, student and staff surveys, as well as document and track group implementation.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications
Education/Experience/Training
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Advanced Analytics or relevant field required
Minimum of 2-4 years of experience with data analysis and/or database management
Professional experience in education, public health, or human service field is preferred
Hybrid remote in Chicagoland area
Skills/Abilities
Proficient in Microsoft Excel (create formulas, pivot tables, charts and graphs), as well as other Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint)
Ability to communicate data and analyses to various audiences through presentations and reports
Excellent analytical, organizational, and project management skills
Proficient using web-based tools, such as Google Docs, SharePoint, etc.
Experience with Tableau, statistical software (e.g., R, SPSS, STATA, SAS) and querying languages (SQL) required
Possess a fundamental understanding of relational databases including how to query and organize them
Experience using survey software (e.g., SurveyMonkey, REDCap, Qualtrics)
Prior experience working with qualitative data is desirable
Ability to work well in group and team settings, as well as independently
Demonstrated experience with organizing projects in a fast-paced environment, including excellent follow-up and follow-through
Highly organized with proven ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Demonstrated ability to learn and adapt during new and shifting priorities with a solution-oriented approach to problem solving
Must possess interpersonal skills that excel in cultural sensitivity and respect for differences
Must be committed to the continuous improvement to service quality and the organization’s mission
