The Role: The Sr. CI Specialist involves working for an exceptional global company with a remarkable culture led by executives embodying the highest values. Central to this position is the cultivation of a Continuous Improvement (CI) Lean culture, with a primary focus on transactional processes, particularly within the digital context. Digital can mean mining data, using digital for marketing, software development, cyber security, etc.
The individual in this CI role doesn’t need to be a digital of software experience, but ideally have experience in it where they “speak the language” and understand the customer’s needs when described.
The individual in this role is responsible for providing robust support to leadership in defining and achieving CI priorities aligned with the strategic direction, Goal Deploying/X matrix, priorities, and overarching metrics within a business unit, with a specific emphasis on software development practices.
Additionally, this role entails coaching, training, and facilitating the development of a CI Lean culture in a digital setting, coupled with delivering tangible business results within the software development lifecycle and/or digital overall.
The incumbent will take the lead on cross-functional projects, analyzing workflows to enhance flow, eliminate waste, and uphold the principles of operational excellence, rooted in leading-edge principles of digital/development practices. Collaboration with other department leaders, managers, and digital/software development staff is key to systematically identifying improvement opportunities and disseminating best practices within the domain. Moreover, this position plays a crucial role in supporting the overall direction of CI as directed by CI leadership, ensuring alignment with the unique challenges and opportunities presented in digital/software development.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
· Demonstrates robust expertise and a fervent commitment to implementing Lean principles in production and also tailored to transactional processes including within a digital or software context.
· Guides Lean design initiatives, adeptly developing value stream maps (VS), VS metrics, and kaizens to propel operations towards an optimized future state. Emphasis is placed on crafting a lean design that ensures optimal flow.
· Simplifies project planning processes, ensuring that objectives are met at a pace conducive to healthy change within the dynamic landscape of transactional and digital/software.
· Conducts comprehensive training sessions for managers, covering CI Lean methodologies, leader standard work, daily metrics, and leading indicators, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
· Leverages extensive experience and adeptness in driving organizational change across all levels, utilizing virtual platforms such as Zoom/Teams to observe and steer transformative efforts.
· Takes the helm in leading cross-functional, complex projects, delving into the analysis and design of sequences of operations and workflows whether in production, transactional and especially digital/software aiming to enhance overall operational efficiency.
· Facilitates the development of sequenced action steps, ensuring that departments capitalize on improvement opportunities within the software development lifecycle.
· Drives daily change by creating and supporting Tiered Metrics and huddles, with a keen focus on the unique challenges presented transactional and in digital/software.
· Plays a pivotal role in facilitating kaizen events, both virtually and in-person.
· Essential to possess the ability to coach senior leaders in driving a lean culture.
· Demonstrates proficiency in creating and developing PERRT diagrams and basic project planning, orchestrating change solidly, effectively, and timely within the digital/software realm.
· Exhibits strong skills in leading, coaching, teaching, and instilling the 8-step problem-solving methodology within the transactional and digital/software context.
· Showcases proficiency in disseminating and spreading best ideas to expedite improvements, recognizing their impact and contributing to the development of a culture that encourages sharing and spreading of best practices within the digital world/software development.
· Serves as a change agent, challenging organizational leaders in supported business including in the digital domain to drive continuous improvements and actively working to remove barriers to continuous improvement processes.
· Demonstrates strong partnering skills, working closely with customer-facing teams and various business functions (HR, Finance, Customer Support, Product Management, Engineering, and Product Development) within the transactional and digital/software landscape.
· Brings a track record of successfully delivering tangible productivity results through transactional excellence projects, emphasizing the unique requirements of digital/software development.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Displays a knack for identifying and spearheading robust initiatives, resulting in significant revenue increases and substantial cost reductions within the transactional and digital/software context.
· Proficiently leads Value Stream Mapping (VSM) events over 2-3 days and effectively follows through with action plans, ensuring tangible outcomes within transactional and digital/software processes.
· Exhibits strong leadership in guiding kaizen events, showcasing adaptability in leading both virtual and in-person sessions, specifically tailored to production, transactional processes and within digital/software development.
· Boasts a comprehensive understanding of visual management principles and excels in deploying them effectively within production, transactional and within the unique context of digital/software operations.
· Demonstrates proficiency in the use of the MS Office Suite and showcases familiarity with databases, utilizing these tools for querying and analyzing data.
· Brings a proven track record of successful project management, showcasing acumen in orchestrating complex projects within the digital/software realm.
· Thrives in environments with ambiguity, displaying comfort and adaptability in navigating uncertainties inherent to CI initiatives.
· Illustrates a history of ensuring effective Change Management execution within the transactional and digital/software domain, recognizing the nuances of driving change in dynamic environments.
· Possesses excellent oral and written communication skills, tailored to effectively convey complex concepts within the software development context.

SALARY: The estimated salary range for this position is $110,000 to $115,000 plus bonus. Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range.
