We have a 30-year track record of providing our clients with the information and insight they need to make development work smarter, produce better results and improve people’s lives.
The Team
The Human Development team oversee a dynamic and rapidly evolving portfolio focused around four core health areas of expertise: health systems strengthening (HSS), adolescent, sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), global health security, and global health strategy. For example, we are a learning partner for global funders investing in evaluating health systems strengthening, evaluate youth-led design for SRHR solutions and help Gavi develop a theory-based strategic framework for its investments, and an evaluator of anti-microbial resistance with the Fleming Fund. We also manage a portfolio of work focused on education and WASH.
The Role
We are recruiting for a senior consultant to join our 11 person-strong Human Development practice, and focus on supporting the learning and evaluation agenda of our SRHR projects, in particular in senior technical and project leadership roles in two of our flagship SRHR projects: (1) Monitoring, evaluation and learning partner for The Challenge Initiative (TCI) – a ‘business unusual’, urban reproductive health programme that empowers local governments across over 170 cities in Africa and Asia to rapidly and sustainably scale high-impact practices and other interventions to benefit urban poor communities. This role will be pivotal to Itad’s position as MEL partner to TCI where are leading an impact and process evaluation, and providing monitoring and learning support. (2) Research and learning partner to PSI for A360 Amplify – an innovative girl-centred programme that works with local governments across Ethiopia, Kenya and Nigeria to increase girls’ voluntary uptake of contraception and support girls to choose the lives they want to live. This role will provide technical leadership across the work in the three countries, including engaging with the PSI and the country-based research teams, to ensure we deliver a robust evaluation and support A360 Amplify to use learning to strengthen the programme. It is anticipated that the remainder of the role will support work across the other thematic areas of the HD portfolio – HSS, global health security, global health strategy, WASH and education depending on the candidate’s areas of expertise and interest – as well as playing a key role in business development, supporting cross-company initiatives and having line management responsibilities.
