Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Salesforce Consultant. This position is responsible for Salesforce.com implementation projects with a variety of nonprofit organizations. In this role, you will work to help companies meet their missions by driving client-specific implementations, with a focus on understanding client business processes from all angles.
The ideal candidate excels at translating complex business needs into elegant technical solutions while maintaining a clear focus on delivering measurable business value. You'll serve as both a technical expert and a strategic partner, helping social impact organizations navigate digital transformation journeys.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Advisory & Consulting
- Act as a trusted advisor to nonprofits, understanding their unique challenges and opportunities
- Bridge the gap between business objectives and technical solutions by providing strategic guidance on how Salesforce can drive organizational impact
- Lead executive-level conversations to align technical decisions with business priorities
- Conduct business value assessments and ROI analysis for proposed solutions
- Develop long-term roadmaps that balance immediate needs with future scalability
Salesforce.com Implementation Leadership
- Serve as the functional project lead, collaborating with cross-functional teams
- Proactively manage to the scope of work, budget and timeline with the PM and project team, including holding boundaries in both client and internal conversations
- Guide discovery sessions to uncover both stated and unstated business needs
- Consolidate sometimes conflicting information from client sources into navigable user stories and acceptance criteria
- Create compelling business cases that demonstrate the value of proposed solutions
- Deliver trainings to system administrators and power users
- Create review and deliver project deliverables with PMs, team members and clients
- Presentation of recommendations, ranging from immediate technical solution recommendations to future information systems planning
- Follow advanced architecture, solution, and platform-specific technical best practices
- With the PM, lead the successful transition of clients to Customer Success by providing/reviewing project artifacts and documentation with that team prior to a formal transition
- Provide hands-on Salesforce.com (and Salesforce.com-related technology) customization and configuration for Exponent Partners' customers following requirements and solution design
Technical Excellence with Business Impact
- Experience designing and implementing scalable Salesforce solutions
- Design and implement solutions that optimize for both technical excellence and business value
- Lead integration strategy discussions with a focus on business outcomes
- Proven ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Provide hands-on expertise in Salesforce configuration, flows, security, and reporting
- Salesforce Administrator certification required; Nonprofit Cloud Consultant preferred
Knowledge Sharing & Thought Leadership
- Mentor junior team members on both technical skills and consulting approaches
- Create thought leadership content that showcases the intersection of technology and mission impact
- Contribute to best practices that demonstrate how technical solutions drive business value
- Build and maintain relationships as a trusted advisor beyond project completion
Qualifications
Background & Experience
- BS or BA degree (MBA a plus) or equivalent applicable experience
- Required a
minimum 3 years experience in a consulting position in a billable capacity; and a minimum 5 years experience with Salesforce.com customization and configuration
- Preferred: Nonprofit sector experience (Human Services, Case Management, Philanthropy, Fundraising, Education)
- Experience presenting to and advising executive stakeholders
Technical Expertise with Business Application
- Experience with designing and implementing solutions on the Salesforce.com platform
- Proficient in Salesforce configuration, including flows, security, and reporting
- Experience with Salesforce-related technologies such as FormAssembly, Form Titan, Mail Chimp, Fonteva, Mogli SMS, DocuSign, Cirrus, Case Management, Program Management, Conga, CVent, Drawloop, and SKUID
- Salesforce Administrator certification required, and Nonprofit Cloud Consultant certifications preferred
- Able to demonstrate structured problem solving skills and highly detail oriented (can spot a mis-matched picklist value from a mile away)
