Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Senior Communications Associate, Special Projects, to support in the development of the next phase of our animated video series, How Cops Get Off. The three-part series, narrated by Jesse Williams, explains how culture and laws protect police and uphold their power. The series is part of a long-term narrative change campaign dedicated to shifting narratives around policing and expanding how our communities view public safety. The Senior Communications Associate, Special Projects would develop a new communications strategy that would build on the recent launch of the campaign including developing content for emerging issues related to policing issues, cultivating relationships with national allied organizations, local grassroots parents, and local micro-influencers, and support local grassroots strategy. We are looking for a strong writer with a solid background in communications strategy.
This position will reside in the Communications team, and reports to the Managing Director of Communications. This position can be remote with the potential to be considered for permanent employment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The individual in this position is expected to engage in the following work-related activities:
Contribute to the development of strategic communications for the How Cops Get Off series and campaign
Collaborate with internal stakeholders and organizational partners on communications for national, state, and local campaigns and initiatives
Develop strategies to engage local and national organizations with campaign content and tactics;
Collaborate with the Justice Project to identify digital opportunities including special campaigns and rapid response work;
Maintain current knowledge of communications by partners and national allied organizations regarding similar issues.

With 5 years of relevant experience, this position pays a minimum of $ 82,417.26 annually, per our compensation structure.
