POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a senior communications associate who will be responsible for all communications aspects of our ClimateShot Investor Coalition (CLIC) program. You will be responsible for leveraging a broad range of communications tools and skills to ensure the CLIC program is visible to entrepreneurs, investors, CLIC members, and other stakeholders who share our goal of accelerating finance for low-carbon and climate-resilient agriculture and food systems globally.
Candidates should have a strong, demonstrated interest in sustainable business, investment, finance, and economics, and dedication to expanding CLIC’s impact during this critical time in addressing the need for more sustainable food systems.
You will report to a Communications Manager based in London, be a core member of the CLIC program team, and will collaborate with communications, analysts, leadership, and operations colleagues around the world. You will also work with external stakeholders, including CLIC members, entrepreneurs, funders, partner programs, and media.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Includes the following and other duties as assigned:
Develop and carry out integrated external communications strategies that support the overall CLIC program goals.
Create and edit materials such as presentations, pitch decks, fact sheets, videos, blog posts, newsletters, and other types of communication materials targeted at multiple global and local audiences, including private investors, policymakers, and finance innovators.
Support the CLIC program team in developing and producing research products, reports, events, and other high-quality CPI outputs.
Manage and maintain CLIC’s social media accounts; prepare social media packets; schedule social media for events and publications; develop and execute plans to grow our broader social media presence and number of followers.
Create and update content for CLIC’s website; ensure content is shareable, search-friendly, and allows for a great user experience; work with external web developers to identify and prioritize issues and improvements on the CLIC website.
Support CLIC’s contact relationship management process; assist the program team in making the best use of the CRM platform; ensure good usage practices; routinely clean and improve available data.
Develop media pitches and carry out outreach efforts; place stories in top-tier global and relevant geography and industry media channels; support the production of press materials and help develop story angles that provide value to journalists; monitor and track press coverage; identify relevant journalists and build relationships with them.
Help measure and assess comms KPIs; rely on analytics to understand causality and drivers of indicators; use experimentation to improve communications processes and effectiveness.
Contribute to developing and maintaining a knowledge base of CLIC and sustainable agriculture reference materials and information for CPI staff, including file and wiki management.
Contribute to and support your colleagues on the CPI global communications team on other communications activities as needed, including knowledge management, internal communications, events, and digital communications.
COMPETENCIES & PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES
Essential
Progressive multi-years’ experience or demonstrable equivalent skills in a role similar to this one, whether through communications, marketing, public relations, journalism, or a related field
Independent worker and strategic thinker, who learns quickly and is able to successfully navigate unchartered territory
Advanced English fluency, especially with writing and editing skills (high proficiency with technical and business content), with the ability to restructure as well as copyedit
Outstanding organizational, project management, and prioritization skills, ability to manage multiple deliverables, and polished, diplomatic interface with internal and external stakeholders to overcome barriers, meet deadlines, and achieve project goals
Ability to turn economics, finance, and sustainable agriculture technical information into accessible insights for investors, policymakers, and other stakeholders
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships in a cross-cultural, global working environment
Ability to work flexibly and with a solutions-oriented approach, under pressure, and on tight deadlines
Highly proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel are heavily used)
Experience writing in a variety of formats – web, print publications, briefing papers, press releases, etc.
Experience with social media and online content management systems, including WordPress, Google Analytics, Google Ads, Mailchimp, Hootsuite, or equivalents
Desirable
Experience with media outreach and public relations. Experience with financial media desirable.
Experience in event management and managing stakeholder relationships
Experience with Airtable or other CRM systems
Experience with the Adobe Creative Suite desirable
Graphic design/data visualization skills desirable
Experience with sustainable agriculture ecosystem, such as investment, finance, or policy, desirable.

Location & Compensation
CPI UK offers a hybrid working environment, with many of our colleagues dividing their time between office and home working, depending on the nature of the role. Typically, we request that teams spend at least 40% of their time in the office with their colleagues.
