ABOUT THE POSITION

Senior Civil Engineer | Hybrid | New York City, NY

VHB's New York City office is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer who is passionate about working on innovative civil engineering projects, inlcuding design build projects. This is an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic and growing team, and tackle NYC's most complex highway, rail, and roadways projects. Experience working with local agencies (NYCDOT, NYCDOB, NYCDDC, NYCDEP, MTA, and private utility owners, etc.) is highly desired.

Responsibilities

VHB is seeking an individual to work within a team of highly motivated engineers to produce fully coordinated plans, specifications, and deliverables. This may include:

• Roadway design and utility infrastructure
• Grading, drainage, and utility design/relocations (NYCDEP water, sewer, and storm and private utility companies)
• Coordination with design team, clients, subconsultants, and stakeholders
• Construction support services (review of submittals and RFIs)
• Act as a client liasion between design team and stake holders

S****kills and Attributes

• Knowledge of the policies, procedures and design standards of NYCDOT, NYCDOB, NYCDDC, MTA and/or NYCDEP
• Working knowledge of construction means and methods
• Experience in Design Build or other Alternative Delivery contracts a plus
• Ability to manage workload and meet deadlines
• Team oriented and motivated to lead/mentor junior staff
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Self-motivated, highly organized, and detail oriented

Qualifications

• 8-11 years of civil engineering experience
• BS in Civil Engineering
• PE license required

Our best estimate of the salary range for this position located in New York City is $111,000-140,000. The final compensation will be based on a variety of factors such as individual qualifications, education, and experience.
