ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Senior Business Process Analyst with a strong focus on technology, you will leverage your expertise in business architecture and business process management to actively design and streamline critical technological processes that underpin our organization's operations. Your primary mission is to align these processes with our strategic technology goals, guaranteeing their efficiency, effectiveness, and scalability in the digital landscape. Additionally, you will play a pivotal role in disseminating industry-specific insights and advising on cutting-edge technology implementations, collaborating closely with technical and business stakeholders to achieve these objectives.
This is a full-time position reporting to the Systems Architect. We have a preference for this new team member to join us in a flexible hybrid work environment in one of our offices in San Francisco CA, Portland, OR, Portland, ME, or New York, NY. Highly qualified candidates located in other parts of the United States may also be considered.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Conduct thorough assessments of technology architectures, pinpointing areas for enhancement to better align with the organization's strategic objectives, with a particular focus on MuleSoft integration
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather information on current business processes and understand business needs, requirements, and objectives
- Recommend optimizations for current business processes based on your analysis and ensure suggested improvements contribute to operational efficiency and effectiveness
- Establish performance metrics to measure the success and efficiency of business processes and support continuous improvement efforts
- Collaborate closely with IT architects, business analysts, and data analysts to meticulously document the integration requirements of technology solutions within the framework of designed business processes, with a specific emphasis on MuleSoft
- Ensure compliance with industry-specific regulations and standards across business processes
- Support organizational change initiatives by providing data-driven insights and recommendations based on business process analysis
- Manage and prioritize incoming requests from multiple business units related to process improvements and analyses
- Provide mentoring and guidance to other team members on best practices for business process analysis
- Coordinate with external contractors to guarantee alignment with MuleSoft-driven business process requirements and standards
ABOUT YOU
- 5+ years of experience in analyzing, documenting, and recommending improvements for business process design and optimization, preferably at the enterprise level
- Proficiency in process mapping and documentation tools (e.g., Lucidchart, Visio)
- Experience with customer journey mapping and user experience design
- Expertise in business process modeling and notation (BPMN) or other process modeling languages like UML
- Proficiency in applying specific project management methodologies, demonstrated through successful project planning, execution, and completion, adhering to defined methodologies and achieving predetermined project objectives and milestones.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively and resolve conflicts by achieving a minimum of a 90% agreement rate in negotiations and resolving 85% of conflicts within defined timelines, as measured through post-negotiation and conflict resolution assessments.
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Experience with business process management (BPM) tools and software
- Ability to visualize and communicate the potential impact of proposed process changes
- Knowledge of performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Ability to facilitate workshops and meetings effectively
- Ability to build relationships with stakeholders at various levels within the organization
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Familiarity with change management methodologies and practices
- Basic understanding of information technology, systems, and integration principles
- Familiarity with change management methodologies and practices
- Degree in Business, Information Systems, or equivalent years of professional experience in a relevant field
- One or more relevant certifications in business process management; Agile or Lean/Six Sigma preferred
HOW WE DEFINE SUCCESS
Within the first 30 days
- You will develop a deep understanding of the company structure, products, and risk policies
- You will familiarize yourself with team makeup, long-term growth goals, lines of business, and current department system direction
- You will quickly grasp how we deploy and utilize key technologies within the division, including Mulesoft, SQLServer, Salesforce, and NetSuite, understanding their functionalities and interfaces
Within the first 90 days
- You will play a key role within teams that own our business processes and technology alignment project portfolio
- You will take point on existing business process optimization projects and help with scoping new process improvement projects
- You will assist with developing a strategic roadmap and prioritizing key projects while considering business needs and company growth projections
Within the first 6 months
- You will launch a comprehensive and scalable process to collaborate on new and existing projects, helping to establish or refine process governance plans and performance metrics
- Begin creating or refining comprehensive process maps that illustrate current state processes, and suggest potential future state improvements
- Assume leadership roles in business process improvement projects independently, showcasing your ability to plan, execute, and deliver substantial results
Within the first year
- You have established relationships with stakeholders across the organization, supporting them with data-driven insights and becoming a valued contributor in business process discussions
- You will be the go-to internal resource for questions or updates regarding the company’s technology vision and strategy and be able to speak to your organization’s positive impact – internally and externally – on the company’s growth and mission, and those of its customers and partners
- Work alongside the team to identify and mitigate process bottlenecks, providing analytical support to facilitate the successful implementation of process improvement projects
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Compensation: The starting base pay for this position is $84,700 to $126,000 in the US. The total compensation package for the successful candidate in this role may exceed the base pay as it includes other incentive pay. The base pay is dependent upon many factors such as location, transferable or job-related skills, work experience, relevant training, business needs, and market demands. The base salary range is subject to change and may be modified in the future
