Senior Business Development Manager, Southern Europe

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is an exceptional career opportunity to bring your regional knowledge and expertise to 3Degrees! In this newly created position originated by a strong customer demand, you will be focused on establishing new senior-level relationships across the southern European region, garnering a clear understanding of the customer’s sustainability goals while representing 3Degrees full suite of climate and renewable energy products and services. You will deliver on a calculated and diverse annual sales plan including environmental commodities (REGOs, GOs, IRECs, TIGRs etc.), carbon offsets and removals and climate and renewable energy advisory services, such as strategy, implementation, procurement and more!

This position will be based remotely in Italy or Spain and reporting into our Director of EMEA.  Interested candidates must have recent sales success and strong professional networks across the southern European region.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Develop strategy and win new business accounts across southern Europe
  • Create and manage business relationships with key accounts and ensure loyalty through excellent customer service, timely communication and aftercare
  • Prepare a monthly analysis on all substantial opportunities in new products or territories, and/or problems and report on performance to forecast objectives
  • Identify and prioritize opportunities using your network, social media sites, research and other sources
  • Generate leads through direct prospecting and networking efforts, including attending regional or national conferences
  • Actively listen to and engage prospects, identifying needs, providing sustainability and renewable energy education and guide to a solution that best meets the needs communicated
  • Manage a complex sales cycle from prospect identification through contract completion, ensuring accuracy in communication and documentation throughout the process
  • Work cross-functionally, collaborating with various internal partners to ensure best-fit solutions and service excellence
  • Deliver accurate, up-to-date sales forecasts and activity tracking (using Salesforce)
  • Proactively contribute to continuous improvement, providing input on 3Degrees products, marketing strategies, sales improvements and team collaboration
  • Stay abreast of the renewable energy industry, 3Degrees' competitors, new product offerings and pricing through 3Degrees staff, industry publications, webinars, etc.
  • Expected travel approximately 40-60% (post COVID-19 restrictions and social protocols)

ABOUT YOU**

You are naturally ambitious and driven by a strong desire to assist clients with their carbon reduction and/or renewable energy goals. You already have an accomplished track record of sales success with large global and European commercial customers but you enjoy prospecting for new business. You have a flair for navigating large accounts to strategically identify key decision-makers and influencers while recognizing the product and service alignment to meet customer needs, effectively pooling resources with an internal team of subject matter experts to deliver excellence every time, collaboration is one of your favorite words!

HOW WE DEFINE SUCCESS

  • Within 60 days

  • You will have a firm understanding of 3Degrees’ products, services, sales structure/processes and key tools (Salesforce, Google Drive, etc.)

  • You will be completing an initial territory plan for sales execution

  • Within 90 days

  • You will have developed a comprehensive outreach strategy and successfully managed your first corporate client meetings, building a pipeline of key contacts to grow and develop the business

  • You will have completed the full onboarding process for new hires

  • Within 6 months

  • You will be well and truly on your way to becoming a market and subject matter expert in EACs, carbon offsets and climate consulting

  • You will have successfully created high-level contacts and will be effectively representing 3Degrees products and services

  • You will be making strong headway in the achievement of sales goals for your given territory
