Senior Accountant I I – ERP Systems Specialist
JOB ANNOUNCEMENT
Sacred Heart Community Service, located in San José, CA, is looking for a Full-Time, Exempt, Senior Accountant II . This individual must be a self-starter, well organized and detail-oriented with strong verbal and written communication skills. They must have the ability to work flexibly and independently. POSITION SUMMARY:
This Senior Accountant II position will take on a lead role to design, support, and maintain of all of the accounting software tools used by the department. The two primary software tools used are Excel and Deltek Costpoint. Exceptional Excel skills are required and some knowledge of Deltek Costpoint is highly desired as well as some basic knowledge of federal contracting principles. This position would lead any implementation of new software modules and automation to improve functionality Accounting duties include light contract and grant administration, budget support, audit support, and backup of other accounting positions including payroll.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
● Support and maintain software systems used by the accounting department.
● Lead implementation of any automation or process updates including documentation.
● Learn all roles within the department to suggest improvements.
● Backup for ADP Payroll.
● Support for the annual audit through preparation of schedules, reconciliations, filing, and photocopying documentation.
● Subcontract monitoring including documenting site visits and reconciliation of subcontract invoices.
● Support for the agency budgeting process by collecting input from Directors and creating reporting the results.
● Grant administration and reporting including the creation of project codes in Deltek Costpoint and reporting to directors and managers of budget and actual reporting on an as-needed basis.
● Special Projects as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES (cont.):
● Supports continuous learning, evaluation, and improvement within the Finance team.
● Supports the planning of and participates in agency-wide programs, events, and outreach efforts.
● Supports the planning of and attends staff meetings, retreats, and other team and agency events.
● Provides support and executes other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
● Strong commitment to our vision of a community united to ensure that every child and adult is free from poverty.
● Three to five years of substantial accounting experience.
● Excellent organizational skills and proven ability to meet deadlines.
● Ability to multi-task and shift priorities in a fast-paced environment.
● Ability to work in a team and follow directives.
● Flexible, compassionate, and supportive attitude.
● Excellent computer skills including competence using Microsoft Office– with a particular emphasis on Excel. ● The position requires computer use for up to 8 hours per day.
● Must complete a DMV and complete background check and qualify to be insured under SHCS driving policy.
HIGHLY DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
● Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related discipline.
● Experience with MIP Fund Accounting greatly preferred.
● Bilingual – Spanish, Vietnamese, Chinese – highly desirable.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:
The position is exempt, full-time and reports to the Finance Director.
COMPENSATION:
The salary is commensurate with experience. Salary range is $78,000-$85,000 annually.
