Job Summary
The Scuba Manager will be responsible for the effective and efficient management of the Dive Center, with specific responsibility for managing the use and maintenance of dive centre facilities to ensure the continued stability and safety of the dive center clients and staff. The Scuba Manager must ensure that best practices are researched and employed so as to maintain standards of excellence.
This position will work closely with the Scuba Educator who, along with the Scuba Manager, facilitate immersive learning experiences for students.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Oversee all scuba education and operations organization wide
Work collaboratively with the Director of Risk management to review risk management protocols relating to scuba programs and operations
Act as the liaison for all professional dive related organizations (i.e.: SSI, DAN, PADI).
Responsible for overseeing the cleaning, maintenance, and servicing of all existing and new supplies and equipment including but not limited to:
Collaborate with education leaders and scuba educator to design, schedule, and deliver scuba programming to students in the Semester and Summer Term Program, Deep Creek Middle School, and Partnership Programs
Collaborate with all other scuba professionals at Island School to standardize scuba practices
Create a scuba schedule assessing organizational scuba needs and working with other scuba professionals to support programs organization wide
Support the planning and execution of scuba certification programs for staff
Certifying students across educational departments, including but not limited to:
Maintain the scuba area of the boathouse, including but not limited to: organizing snorkel and scuba equipment
Management of the Island School PADI insurance including but not limited to: ensuring all Island School dive professionals are insured, renewing Island School insurance, processing PADI fees for scuba instructors
Be an active, collaborative, and positive member of The Island School community
Demonstrate commitment to the wider mission and values of the Island School
Create interdisciplinary connections between scuba diving and student learning outcomes
Work professionally and cooperatively within the school community and broader South Eleuthera community
Assist in the daily running of dive operations
Uphold risk management of scuba activities
Contribute to the daily functions and operations of our campus community (chores, farm, wet lab, dish crew, etc.)

Schedule
The Cape Eleuthera Island School and its related entities operate year round and working hours vary depending on program needs. Programs and special events will require periods of time outside of normal working hours when staff must be on site for extended periods. The successful candidate should expect, and desire to work a variable and mission driven schedule.
