The Scuba Educator will be responsible for planning, leading, and supporting in the execution of scuba programs across education departments at The Island School. This includes, but is not limited to: Semester and Summer Term Programs, Deep Creek Middle School, and Partnership Programs.
Job Summary
We are looking for educators who are committed to experiential education and passionate about both teaching and learning. The scuba educator will facilitate immersive learning experiences for students, following PADI standards. Ideal candidates will be able to integrate PADI scuba education with the three pillars of Island School: sustainability, sense of place, and intentional community. We expect the instructor to create meaningful scuba experiences that connect to students’ other coursework. Additionally, the scuba educator will be enthusiastic about linking classroom learning to life in the community and outdoor learning experiences.
This position will work closely with the Scuba Manager who will oversee all Scuba operations at The Island School.

Schedule
The Cape Eleuthera Island School and its related entities operate year round and working hours vary depending on program needs. Programs and special events will require periods of time outside of normal working hours when staff must be on site for extended periods. The successful candidate should expect, and desire to work a variable and mission driven schedule.
