Program/Department Overview
EDF’s Membership Department contributes to the mission by engaging with our three million members and activists to raise money and take action. Executing a multichannel campaign correctly requires experts in copywriting, creative, analysis, marketing databases, donor development, and member services. Membership staff work closely with colleagues in Marketing, Development, IT, and Political Affairs to be effective in our work and efficient in our use of resources.
Overall Function
As a non-profit organization, EDF keeps constituent data in Salesforce NPSP so staff can maintain relationships with program partners and financial supporters. Process flaws can cause errors on constituent records, which can lead to lost relationships. The Membership Department’s Salesforce Data Intern will learn reporting and analysis skills to identify data-hygiene problems in the Salesforce database, with a focus on members in the United States who are donors. This intern will then correct constituent records, either by creating upload files, or by correcting lists of individual records.
