Summary of Role:

The Senior Finance Manager - Construction will be responsible for managing the project finances during construction of wind and solar projects, ensuring the reporting obligations under the Construction Management Agreements as well as Facility and Shareholder Agreements are met. This role will manage the Finance team responsible for the successful construction of the projects on time and within budget, with detailed and accurate reporting provided to various stakeholders.

The role will collaborate and work with other team members across the business to bring projects to financial close and manage the projects through construction before successfully handing over to the operations team.

What you will do:

  • Lead and manage the Construction Finance team including resourcing, recruitment and team performance management. Work with the Head of Finance and Head of Construction to develop resourcing plans to support ongoing projects.
  • Understand and manage the Construction projects financial reporting obligations and ensure the requirements are well executed.
  • Ensure accurate monthly reporting within required timeframes, reporting on construction progress.
  • Manage cashflows and any funding requirements from lenders and equity providers.
  • Manage project budget and any updates to the financial model.
  • Manage key stakeholder relationships including shareholders, lenders, and contractors.
  • Review monthly management accounts prepared by Finance Managers and provide support to the team as and when required.
  • Manage and control monthly payment run process to suppliers and contractors.
  • Work with the Construction Program Managers to ensure projects are built on time and within budget.
  • Coordinate annual audit, preparation of AFS in line with IFRS, and other annual reporting, as required
  • Ensure that systems and process are as efficient as possible and proper controls are in place.

What we require:

  • Qualified CIMA/CA, ideally with a professional services background.
  • Have worked at a Senior Finance Manager level in a multinational organisation.
  • Experience within Renewable Energy highly advantageous.
  • Minimum 8 years post qualification experience.
  • Experience in management of a team.
  • Audit, financial statement and IFRS experience.
  • Confident self-starter with the ability to act on own initiative, multi-task and prioritise in order to meet challenging deadlines.
  • High levels of energy and motivation, with a track record of delivery.
  • Strong organisation, communication and interpersonal skills required.
  • Act with high levels of integrity and accountability.
  • Flexibility to work on a broad range of projects.
  • Be inquiring and open to improved ways of working.
