The Sr. Analyst supports the Associate General Counsel in the creation and continuous improvement of a best-in-class Risk Management and Insurance function. In addition, the Sr. Analyst provides assistance on other Financial and Legal related projects. The primary Risk Management and Insurance responsibilities will include insurance policy management, coordination and review; compilation and analysis of underwriting information; claims management; data analysis; certificates of insurance and general customer service to internal stakeholders. The Sr. Analyst will interact with Xylem’s 17,500 employees around the world to provide service and support in their daily business needs.
Opportunities exist for the Sr. Analyst to work with other disciplines within Xylem, in Finance, Legal and and beyond, particular the Environmental, Safety and Health team on Worker’s Compensation loss control efforts and claims handling. Must be able to work independently, exercise good business judgment and show initiative.
Risk Management and Insurance:
Support all insurance renewal projects, including exposure collection and analysis; assist in the preparation of market presentations and other marketing information.
Maintain complete current and archived insurance policies.
Prepare and maintain current schedules of insurance.
Oversee issuance of certificates of insurance and auto insurance identification cards.
Assist with budget preparation and premium allocations.
Perform monthly claim payment reconciliations.
Willingness to get involved in casualty, property and marine cargo claim management, including interaction with third-party claim administrators, in-house counsel, outside counsel and other internal stakeholders; use online claims system.
Review and analyze insurance policies on coverage issues.
Create and disseminate regular reports of key metrics (dashboards).
Ability to read and understand insurance policies and other contracts.
Review and analyze insurance language in lease agreements Support M&A; integration of acquisitions, and separation of divestitures Manage US Worker’s Compensation loss control projects, in partnership with EHS Manage and maintain the Risk Management intranet portal.
Conduct insurance binder and insurance policy reviews to ensure accuracy of coverages and exclusions. Responsible for supporting the Associate General Counsel in regards to insurance reporting, analysis and compliance needs.
Support Associate General Counsel in audit requirements as needed.
Assist/conduct internal risk management training as needed.
Process claim and premium invoices.
Finance, as needed:
Provide support and analysis on Treasury and Cash Management projects and initiatives.
Assist with the preparation of regular and ad hoc reports.
Manage and maintain the Treasury intranet portal.
Work on projects as directed by the Treasurer and Assistant Treasurer.
Backup for Cash Management
Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related field of study; MBA preferred.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the field of Risk Management, reflecting increasing levels of responsibility. Certification/designation in ARM, CPCU or willingness to pursue such designation.
Understanding of insurance coverage and terminology.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including customer service.
Ability to maximize use of databases, analyze data and create useful reports and tools.
Exceptional analytical skills with attention to detail.
Creative thinking and an unyielding desire to improve how things are done.
Ability to work independently. Resourceful in solving problems.
Change management skills to support change and new initiatives.
Adept in managing multiple projects under deadlines with changing priorities.
Consultation skills to provide advice and information on risk management to a global community of colleagues. Strong PC skills including MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
Must work well in both independent and team environments.
