Position Purpose

A versatile position within a dynamic nonprofit that provides community-inspired, volunteer-powered disaster relief. The position is full time and is responsible for general program support and a team oriented approach to a flexible response program with responsibilities including volunteer management, work queue management, assessments and scope identification, and maintaining relations between All Hands and Hearts and local beneficiaries.

Essential Functions

  • Provide support to the program team as a whole, plugging a variety of gaps and program needs as they arise.  This may include the following:

    • Management of the field work queue including scheduling and conducting  assessments, coordinating new work sites, and management of program data (i.e. tracking worksite progress and completion) in All Hands and Hearts’ organizational database
    • Volunteer coordination support including volunteer outreach, communication, base and site orientation, scheduling, and overall management on program.
    • Financial and logistics support including cash counts, vendor invoices, working with off program financial support, and vendor relations as needed.
    • Tracking of material usage, work records, and other data as needed in Salesforce.
    • Leading teams in the field through coordination and management of volunteer Team Leaders including offering skilled troubleshooting and translating as necessary
  • Work with Program Director to organize and manage transport and telecommunications for teams in the field

  • Work with the Program Director on procurement of construction supplies, tools, and materials for project sites, as construction related scopes occur

  • Support overall base management and general program operations.

  • Reviewing, modifying, and implementing appropriate health and safety practices across sites including risk assessments, incident reporting, training, and documentation.

  • We have decided to relax the requirement for Covid-19 vaccination for on program staff. While we still strongly recommend Covid-19 vaccination, along with other standard and travel immunizations as recommended by the CDC and WHO, Covid-19 vacation will no longer be required

  • Perform other duties as required

Position Requirements

  • Education  High school diploma or equivalent is required
  • Related Experience  Previous All Hands and Hearts experience preferred. Must have previous humanitarian experience. 1-2 years experience with construction logistics preferred.
  • Special Competencies/Certifications
  • Fluency in at least one language/dialect used in the region of the project strongly preferred. Valid driver’s license required. Must be able to secure and maintain appropriate visas. Excellent written and oral communication skills (In English). Confident working with Google Workspace, particularly Google Docs and Google Sheets; and Microsoft Office. The applicant needs to be well organized, detail oriented and process driven. The applicant should have a flexible approach to managing multiple tasks and prioritizing them appropriately. The individual is able to manage a large workload and perform in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Typical starting salary is $850 - $1,225 USD / month, and up to $1,600 for highly qualified candidates who have previous experience in this role.
