Responsibilities

Program/Department Overview

Climate Corps® (www.edfclimatecorps.org) is a network of professionals united to advance climate solutions. This network is grounded in an innovative summer fellowship program, which embeds trained graduate students in companies, cities and universities to accelerate and advance energy and climate goals.  Since the program’s launch in 2008, Climate Corps fellows have uncovered over $1.6 billion dollars in energy savings for participating organizations. With a network of over 2,500 professionals, Climate Corps seeks to accelerate the transition to a low-carbon energy system by inspiring and empowering leaders. The Intern will be working under the direction of the Cohorts Project Manager and will be collaborating closely with EDF’s Digital Library team and the Climate Corps Communications Associate.

Overall Function

The intern will play a central role in the success of the summer fellowship program by helping to compile and organize key resources. The intern will help research and compile online reports, whitepapers, tools, and other resources, on the key fellowship topics such as Net Zero implementation strategies, GHG accounting, supply chain, food waste, renewables and energy efficiency, environmental and climate justice, and animal agriculture. The intern will compile these resources in an organized manner that is accessible to fellows. Additionally, the intern will help organize, label and compile photos and other Climate Corps digital assets onto the EDF digital Library.

Key Responsibilities

Tasks will include but are not limited to:

  • Gather climate resources (reports, tools, etc...) recommended by Cohort Advisors, evaluate existing Climate Corps library resources to determine overlapping and out-of-date content, research new resources and recommend use as needed.
  • Add fellow resources to the EDF Library, create permalinks, and organize resources in a format that is accessible to fellows and easy to access and understand.
  • In coordination with EDF Librarians, organize existing Climate Corps photos and digital assets onto the EDF Library, determine which photos have been approved for sharing, and upload and catalogue as needed.
  • Contribute to other Climate Corps program projects, including tasks related to communications, logistics coordination for the fellow training, and others as needed.
  • Participate in advancing EDF Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) goals in which people from all backgrounds and experiences feel connected, included, and empowered to address the environmental and organizational challenges in alignment with EDF values.

Qualifications

  • Completed or working towards a college degree.
  • Exceptional organization skills and attention to detail, including the ability to organize materials with a focus on readability and accessibility for use by external stakeholders.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • A self-starter with the ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Experience with or a demonstrated interest in conducting research, preferred.
  • Demonstrated interest in environmental sustainability preferred.
