Successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, be adept at translating our unique and complex mission into compelling cases for support and will proactively develop a pipeline of prospective funders and partners. This includes solicitation, acknowledgement, education and ongoing cultivation of existing corporate funders.
This position will successfully implement fundraising and relationship management strategies to generate investments and resources from a portfolio of current funders and prospective funders to include: corporate, foundation, and other grants.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
1. Research and screen new funding opportunities working closely with the Director, Donor Impact and Senior Manager, Corporate Partnership and Philanthropy
2. Performs continuous research and outreach to potential, current, and lapsed corporate partners and customizes outreach strategies.
3. Stays abreast of industry trends
4. Assists with identifying sponsors and partners for events that will generate revenue and promote our brand
5. Works cross departmentally to develop and deliver partnership presentations, fundraising pitches, co-develop timelines, key strategies, and action plans.
6. Lead exploratory discussions and partner with the Proposal Coordinator to research, develop and submit funding proposals
7. Schedule and lead face-to-face engagements with major contributors and prospects, send acknowledgements, provide investment updates and required reports, update and share funding opportunities and share media promotions with funders, meeting funder requirements and expectations
8. Collaborate with GII team to align new and existing relationships with organizational goals
9. Contribute to development of online and print outreach materials that will define partnership benefits and report on partner impact
10. Supports maintenance of the Partnership webpage and any specific partnership landing pages ensuring that the content is current. Reviews and maintains all other appropriate web material related to corporate partnerships.
11. Help plan and coordinate special and corporate events with corporate partners
12. Track relationship management activities in donor CRM database and other software as required
13. Design, prepare resources for and facilitate meetings with executives and other key stakeholders to offer updates, make decisions, and propose new ways to increase funding and strengthen key relationships.
14. Deploy and refine internal processes for corporate funder engagement and acquisition to optimize alignment and results
15. Perform other tasks and duties as needed to achieve objectives
RELATIONSHIPS
Internal: Frequent contact and surveying of GII team members to develop and execute fundraising strategies and initiatives.
Goodwill Members: Periodic contact and surveying of local Goodwill leaders to leverage input; provide consultation, tools and resources; and promote and engage in corporate and foundation fundraising resources and activities
External: Frequent contact with existing funders and prospects
Government Officials: As needed to advance GII fundraising objectives
A. Experience in fundraising strategies and principles with a focus on corporate and foundation philanthropy
B. Experience achieving corporate sponsorships
C. Experience conducting prospect research for potential financial donors
D. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse senior leaders in nonprofit, for-profit and public sectors.
E. Effective oral, presentation and written communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
F. Demonstrated negotiation, collaboration, solution creation, and consensus-building skills.
G. Broad understanding of integrated marketing, public relations, and cause partnerships.
H. Proficiency in prioritizing and coordinating multiple tasks in collaboration with diverse teams to meet deadlines on multiple detail-oriented projects in a fast-paced, changing environment.
I. Ability to use Microsoft Office and other programs and platforms to conduct business.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
EXPERIENCE:
3-5 years of fundraising experience working with nonprofits and/or advocacy organizations. Experience in government, private and foundation grant writing preferred. Salesforce/CRM experience desired.

Prioritizing workload to achieve key outcomes; ability to make strategic decisions regarding department plans and activities aligned with organizational vision and objectives; ability to act independently and use sound judgment.
SUPERVISION:
General with latitude is given to determine approaches, procedures and methodologies for carrying out assignments. Work is reviewed to ensure that it is conceptually sound and meets objectives.
PHYSICAL EFFORT:
Light lifting to 20 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 10 pounds. Frequent walking and standing are required; may be accommodated. Travel is required.
EMOTIONAL EFFORT:
Moderate; occasional short deadlines requiring some extended hours. Work environment may be hectic with occasional to frequent periods of high stress. Positive, cordial and quality customer service to Goodwill members is required.
