We are looking to hire a Regulatory Lead in South Africa responsible for ensuring that Instill Education complies with all applicable SAQA, DHET & CHE regulations.

What does the role entail?
As the Regulatory and Quality Assurance Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring that Instill Education complies with all relevant regulatory standards and that our programmes and qualifications meet the CHE and DHET standards for accreditation.
More specifically you will;
- Project manage and lead all accreditation and regulatory activities for our South African programmes while also serving as an advisor for activities in other countries of operation
- Develop, implement, and monitor quality assurance policies and procedures by national regulatory frameworks and best practices
- Build strong relationships with accreditation bodies and stakeholders to establish our presence in the higher education sector, and keep abreast of all regulatory developments
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to regulatory compliance, quality control, and quality assurance activities. This includes ensuring documentation is up-to-date, accurate, organized, and easily accessible for audits and reviews
- Identify potential risks, assess their impact, and implement measures to mitigate risks related to quality control and regulatory compliance
- Collaborate with various departments to suggest and implement improvements in programmes, processes, and systems to enhance overall quality and compliance with a specific focus on the academic and campus operation teams
- Compile reports on quality metrics, compliance status, and performance indicators to assess the effectiveness of quality assurance processes and regulatory compliance efforts, including analysis of data to identify trends and areas for improvement
- Lead and oversee the process of getting new programmes accredited by the TEPEC Committee and Council for Higher Education
- Provide advice and support to staff on regulatory and quality assurance matters including the development of programme specifications, course descriptors, and assessment criteria
- Represent Instill Education to various regulatory and quality assurance bodies and participate in sector-wide quality assurance initiatives
- Conduct audits and reviews of programmes and courses to ensure that they meet Instill Education’s quality standards and regulatory requirements
- Design programme outlines and module materials for programme accreditation purposes
Selection Criteria:
- Master’s degree in Education, quality assurance, or public policy (or a related field)
- 5 years of experience in the fields of accreditation (ideally with the CHE and DHET) and regulatory compliance
- Experience in curriculum design
- Experience in developing, monitoring, and training on institution-wide policies
- Strong knowledge of regulatory and quality assurance requirements for higher education institutions
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Exceptional project management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
