Job Summary: The company is looking to recruit an ambitious and energetic Regulatory Compliance - Due Diligence Intern, who will help Candi to lead the revolution of solar. Given that Candi is taking solar into a new realm with a new set of tools, the role will require creativity, innovation and a new way of thinking. The internship will run for 12 months.
Specifically, the job requires supporting our compliance team in South Africa with the following
tasks and responsibilities at a global level:
- Evaluating the current high-risk client base to identify and validate relationships with Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs) and other high-risk entities.
- Performing in-depth due diligence for identified high-risk and PEP clients to ensure
- compliance and risk mitigation.
- Analyzing the risk profiles of existing clients and assessing new clients entering relationships with Candi.
- Assisting with developing and enhancing the automatic risk base model.
- Conducting comprehensive background checks on clients flagged by the AML (Anti-Money Laundering) risk model and identifying clients posing a higher AML risk, including PEPs - and developing detailed client profiles for these entities.
- Escalating significant findings, such as adverse information or heightened AML risks, to senior management for review.
- Conducting ad hoc reviews of client relationships as required by the business.
- Performing annual reviews of high-risk and PEP relationships to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Reporting any suspicious transactions or activities (STRs) identified during due diligence processes.
- Actively engaging with business units and branches to facilitate the flow of client activity, transaction data, and other pertinent information.
- Supporting the business in making informed, risk-based decisions concerning client relationships.
- Providing targeted training sessions to business units on AML compliance and risk management as needed.

Job Requirements:

- Proficiency in MS Excel
