Job Overview
The Regional Manager executes a student recruitment strategy across key onshore territories that
targets international students seeking a US university degree. The role includes marketing activities in
the region as well as high level account management of key channel partners, business development
and long tail activation. The Recruitment Manager drives and ultimately ensures the execution of the
recruitment strategy across the region and multiple channels to maximize the opportunities across
Shorelight’s portfolio of partner universities.
Essential Functions
Business Development and Relationship Management
• Overall ownership of the sub-region and growth plan across channel growth and marketing
activities
• Sub-regional budget planning and management including T&E, scholarships/discounts,
marketing, events, etc.
• Develop and manage the channel growth (eg agencies, high schools) across the subregion to
meet bookings goals
• Develop and manage the execution of channel management plans to meet bookings goals
• Alongside the Shorelight team, develop the regional structure and for the region in a way that
ensures an efficient set up that leverages staff strengths and recruitment opportunities
• Co-develop and ensure execution of key regional initiatives to increase opportunities for
Shorelight partner universities
• Work closely with Shorelight HQ in Boston to deliver critical feedback on new products,
universities and programs
• Maintain maximum levels of competitor awareness, product knowledge, and market intelligence
• Maintain a data-driven approach to recruitment, monitoring enrollment trends and optimizing
regional efficiency
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in marketing, communications, business, international relations,
or related area.
• 6+ years of experience in the international education/recruitment industry or a related industry
• Strong sales and account management skills
• Proven track record of working collaboratively in a matrix governance model
• Strategic-minded and sales-driven, with strong drive for results
• Ability to work successfully in a fast-paced environment while remaining pressure-resilient
• Proficient with technology and reporting programs/systems
• Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills
• Exemplary customer service skills and ability to foster a customer service ethic within the
regional team
• Willingness to travel across the region
• Strong knowledge of the international education industry, products and competitors in the US
higher education space
• Eligibility to work in the hiring location
Preferred Qualifications
• Master’s degree
• Experience working in a cross-cultural professional environment
• Familiarity using a CRM system such as Salesforce.com
• Experience in data analytics and reporting
