The Organization

The Florence Project was founded in 1989 to respond to a representation crisis for indigent non-citizens detained at the rural Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Detention Center in Florence, Arizona. Through our programs today, we provide services to thousands of adults, youth, and children detained in Eloy, Florence, Phoenix, and Tucson, Arizona on any given day. In 2001, the Florence Project implemented our Integrated Social Services Program, one of the first of its kind in this field. The Florence Project provides high quality legal and social services and supports initiatives for national changes in immigration law and policy.

Primary Purpose of the Job:

The position of People & Culture Recruiter serves as the branding champion for identifying top talent for our growing organization.  The primary duties will be to guide and support hiring managers to array out recruiting efforts for the organization by doing the following:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop sourcing strategies to attract candidates.

  • Participate in recruitment events

  • Interview and present candidates

  • Present candidates to hiring team to assess “fit”

  • Develop Recruitment materials, ads, information and ... to attract candidates

  • Proactively develop networks of potential candidates as candidates for current and future positions.

  • Act as a point of contact and build influential candidate relationships during the selection process.

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of sourcing and recruiting candidates for a small to mid-size organization required.

  • 2 years of Human Resources experience required.

  • Fluency and advanced proficiency in Spanish and English required (speaking, writing, reading).

  • Effective oral and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrated commitment to advocating for our organization’s clients in a respectful and empowering way, zealous support of the Florence Project’s mission, and displays a commitment to diversity and inclusion.

  • Ability to multitask.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Skills in record keeping.

  • Able to exhibit a high level of confidentiality and maintain discretion. Must be able to handle highly confidential situations with professionalism and tact.

  • Must have experience and ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.

  • Must be able to gather and analyze information skillfully.

  • Proven experience and ability to manage tasks with competing priorities and deadlines.

  • Outstanding organizational skills with strong attention-to-detail.

  • Must have strong integrity and professionalism.

  • Demonstrate to be a hardworking, flexible, respectful team player that can work effectively in a collaborative, innovative, and client centered work environment.  Ability to work independently, be adaptable and reliable in the face of conflict, pressure, crisis or changing priorities.

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

  • Proficient computer skills.  Advanced understanding of MS365 office applications.

Preferred Requirements:

  • SHRM- CP or SPH a plus.

  • Experience working with HRIS systems, BambooHR preferred.

  • Certified Internet Recruiter (CIM)

  • Association of Talent Acquisition Professionals

  • Certified Professional Recruiter (CPR)

Working Conditions/Physical Demands:

  • Operate in a professional office environment and requires the ability to sit for long periods of time with intermittent walking, standing, bending, squatting, pulling and pushing.
  • Requires the ability to use standard office equipment such as scanners, computers, keyboards, phones, shredders, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. Requires the ability to lift-up to ten pounds - accommodations may be available.
  • Requires travelling regularly between offices (Phoenix, Tucson, and Florence).
  • Effective September 1, 2021, FIRRP has implemented a mandatory COVID-19 vaccine policy. To comply with this policy, active employees must be fully vaccinated by October 15, 2021. Salary & Benefits:

This is a full-time position. Salary is competitive for our field and geographical area. Salaries will be calculated based on relevant experience and our established comprehensive wage scale: $53,500-$68,776.34 DOE
