Local Unit & Position Description
As a RAMS Engineer specializing in railway projects, with 3 - 5 years of experience, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the RAM, and safety of various systems and components within the railway infrastructure. Your expertise and leadership will be instrumental in optimizing railway operations, enhancing safety measures, and driving continuous improvement.
This position is open for Malaga and other close regions.
Position Qualifications
Responsibilities:
- Conduct advanced reliability analyses for complex railway systems, subsystems, and components, Identify areas for improvement, propose design modifications, and recommend maintenance strategies to enhance system reliability.
- Evaluate the availability of critical railway systems, including track infrastructure, signaling systems, rolling stock, and power supply. Develop and implement strategies to maximize system uptime, minimize downtime, and optimize maintenance schedules.
- Assess the maintainability of railway systems to minimize repair times, optimize maintenance procedures, and reduce life-cycle costs. Integrate preventive maintenance, condition monitoring, and predictive maintenance techniques to improve system reliability and minimize maintenance downtime.
- Safety Assurance: Apply comprehensive safety management principles and methodologies in accordance with industry standards (IEC or CENELEC standards) and regulations (RE402/2013). Conduct thorough safety analyses, such as HAZID, HAZOP, FTA, and FMEA, to identify potential safety risks and propose effective risk mitigation measures.
- System Integration Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers, designers, project managers, and stakeholders, to ensure seamless integration of RAMS requirements throughout the entire lifecycle of railway projects. Provide technical expertise, guidance, and mentorship to junior RAMS engineers, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Documentation and Reporting: Prepare high-quality technical reports, documentation, and RAMS-related deliverables for internal and external stakeholders. Maintain accurate records of RAMS activities, including test plans, test results, and verification/validation activities, ensuring compliance with project-specific documentation requirements.
- Help and support other company activities in the region. Create and follow up leads, support de rail team in commercial activities preparing tender documentation and attending commercial meetings
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience working on RAMS engineering in railway projects or similar complex systems.
- Experience working with RAMS principles, methodologies, and standards, such as EN 50126, EN 50128, EN 50129, IEC 61508, or related standards.
- Proficiency in safety analysis techniques, such as HAZID, HAZOP, FTA, FMEA, and their application in railway systems.
- Experience with RAMS software tools, reliability modeling software, and statistical analysis tools was desirable.
- Experience in safety assessment and product certification activities is a plus.

- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to assess complex systems and identify improvement opportunities.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, provide guidance and convey technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
- Good knowledge of railway systems, infrastructure, and equipment.
- Adherence to safety standards, meticulous attention to detail, and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality results.
