Recycled concrete, secondary aggregates and waste recycling hold great future potential for construction materials’ industry. Recycling is big on the EU agenda for sustainable development. It is an essential component of the Circular Economy. The proposed position is being defined for accelerating a systematic review of various production and crushing technologies currently available or being developed. If selected, you will be working at one of the best Global Innovation Centers on construction material and constructive systems. The current assignment is designed with a typical timeframe of 0 to 3 years before the solution is transferred to the market.

You will develop, share and communicate scientific knowledge and practical solutions on various innovative recycled concrete and aggregate crushing technologies. A brief description of this position is as below:

Responsibilities

Core job responsibilities

To fulfill above objectives, we are looking for a well qualified and experienced practitioner who can focus on

  1. Identifying, evaluating and researching on innovative aggregate production & concrete recycling technologies
  2. Exploring new solutions in the market from established vendors and start-ups
  3. Coordinating internally for pilots, establishing proof of concepts and technology transfer missions
  4. Synthesizing and presenting the outcomes of above investigations in line with business directions
  5. Maintaining a global technological watch on alternative construction aggregate sources, materials and production technologies. Ensuring timely due diligence on such options
  6. Planning and coordinating improvement initiatives on production sites
  7. Periodically sharing such information and knowledge with relevant stakeholders

Education/Qualifications

Education :

  • A bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical / Process / Chemical / Civil Engineering or equivalent practical experience. Education is not a limitation for a deserving candidate

Experience

Experience :

  • Experience in designing aggregate crushing machines, cement mills, crusher sequence design, recycling platform design is a must. Candidate with relevant aggregate production and operational experience could also be considered
  • Minimum work experience of 8 years

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge :

  • Working knowledge of aggregate crushers and / or cement plants is essential
  • Working knowledge of local legislations (at least European), circular platforms, market pricing, etc. would be an added advantage
  • Basic knowledge of circular products, construction materials and circular economy or willingness to learn
  • International background is a plus, with an experience in multicultural environments

Soft skills :

  • This position being field / operations oriented, an open exploratory and curious mindset willing to experiment and a drive for delivering the results is essential
  • Creative foresight on needs of relevant challenges and ability to solve problems through experimentation
  • Innate ability for coordination; decent presentation and persuasion skills
  • Must be an agile team player having quick learning ability
  • Stakeholder management skills

Language Requirements

Decent communication skills and a good command over business English is essential; fluency in French and other languages would be a plus
