QUARRY MANAGER

Overview

To manage all aspects of the Quarry operation to ensure efficient production of a quality product whilst adhering to all safety and environmental regulations

Responsibilities

• Management of the operation including the development and management of the entire quarrying process
• Maintain optimum production levels and production planning
• Management of planned maintenance through maintenance controllers
• Budgeting and reporting on performance monthly including KPI’s
• Manage product quality according to specifications
• Management and development of all subordinate staff and quarry trainees
• Management of the Health, Safety and Environmental Programmes
• Assume Management responsibilities pertaining to Minerals and Petroleum Resources
• Development Act and other relevant legislation
• Management of the Health, Safety and Environmental Programmes.
• Stakeholder engagement
• Drive safe behaviours
• Generate monthly legal report
• Mine planning and quarry reserve management
• Balance production to Sales output

Education/Qualifications

• Applicants must possess a Grade 12 (Matric) qualification
• A relevant tertiary qualification in an engineering discipline would be advantageous

Experience

• Opencast blasting ticket/qualification would be advantageous
• A minimum of 5 years management experience in an Aggregates environment with specific exposure to Operations, People and Commercial Management.
• Minimum of 3 years Quarry Manager experience
