QA Automation Engineer

We believe that our teachers and school leaders are the greatest levers for change in the education system.  We recently became an accredited higher education institution in South Africa and launched a game-changing mobile app that offers self-paced, bite-sized modules to help teachers in the professional development journey. More than 50,000 teachers in Ghana, Kenya, and Nigeria have already enrolled in our professional development modules and joined a pan-African community of peers and experts who provide support and feedback along the way.

We are looking to hire a QA Automation specialist to support the continuous development of our professional development app, Upskill.

What does role entail?

As the QA Automation, you will be responsible for designing testing procedures for our software application Upskill. You will be responsible for analysing the functionality of the application and designing automated tests to validate their performance. You will be required to identify bugs, install databases, and collaborate with the Product Team responsible for software development on Upskill.

More specifically, you will be responsible for;

• Working with the software design team to design verification protocols.
• Implementing automated software tests.
• Reviewing software bug reports and highlighting problem areas.
• Writing automation scripts for api testing
• Troubleshooting automation software
• Identifying quality issues and creating test reports.
• Collaborating with the Product team to solve application faults.

Selection Criteria:

• Experience working as a QA automation engineer
• Experience with a browser-based automated testing tool such as Selenium or Katalon
• Experience with a mobile app automated testing tool such as Appium
• Familiarity with adding programmatic test functionality
• Experience with api testing tools such as Postman
• Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD)
• Excellent analytical skills
• Detailed knowledge of application functions, bug fixing, and testing protocols
• Good project management skills

Anticipated start: 1 January 2024

Location: Flexible in either Nairobi, Accra or  Lagos / Abuja
