The Role: Purchasing Co-op

Who are you?

This person will be a key player in the company's Order to Pay process. The Purchasing Co-op will be responsible for assisting the Supply Chain Team in administrating all of the company's purchasing transactions. As a member of the Supply Chain team, the Purchasing Co-op will assist in various Supply Chain tasks to support the company in a rapid expansion phase. This role would be suitable for a Bachelor of Commerce student specializing in Supply Chain and Logistics.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

• Develops a deep understanding of the workflows associated with Svante's Order to Pay process, which includes identifying a need to purchase, creating a purchase requisition, approving purchases, and finally placing a Purchase Order with a supplier.
• Places Purchase Orders created in the company's ERP system (Microsoft Dynamics 365).
• Identifies issues with the Order to Pay process and reports to the implementation team accordingly.
• Follows up with suppliers to confirm receipt of Purchase Orders.
• Identifies lead time issues and expedites orders as needed.
• Working closely with the Intermediate Buyer and the Supply Chain assistant in implementing the MRP (Material Requirement Planning) module within Microsoft Dynamics 365.
• Schedule and track shipments within the BC Lower mainland. Mainly between Svante’s facilities and demonstration sites.
• Carries out other related tasks and projects as assigned.

Key Qualifications (knowledge, skills, and abilities):

• Must naturally espouse Svante values and believe in our Goals and Objectives.
• Basic understanding of the Order to Pay cycle and workflows.
• Intermediate-level skills in Microsoft Office 365 (Excel and Outlook specifically)
• Clear written and strong oral communication skills.
• Able to work as part of a team and independently; self-starter.
