Proposal for Proposal Writer and Program Development Specialist for Nonviolent Peaceforce in South Sudan
Introduction
Nonviolent Peaceforce (NP) is an international NGO dedicated to protecting civilians through unarmed strategies in conflict zones. Our work in South Sudan focuses on enhancing community safety, reducing violence, and fostering peace through Unarmed Civilian Protection (UCP). We are seeking a skilled Proposal Writer and Program Development Specialist with a strong background in developing and writing proposals, particularly in conflict zones. This role will be based in Juba, South Sudan, for a period of three months.
Objective
The primary objective of this role is twofold:
Scope of Work
The selected Proposal Writer and Program Development Specialist will be responsible for the following tasks:
Donor Research: Identify and research potential donors priorities that align with NP’s mission and the specific needs of our South Sudan program.
Proposal Development: Create compelling proposals that effectively communicate the impact of our UCP work and align with donor requirements.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with the South Sudan team, including program managers and field staff, to gather necessary information and develop proposals and programs that reflect on-the-ground realities.
Editing and Review: Edit and review proposals to ensure they are clear, coherent, and persuasive.
Budget Development: Work with the finance team to create accurate and compelling budgets that support the proposed activities.
Compliance: Ensure all proposals and program plans adhere to donor guidelines and are submitted on time.
Reporting: Write/edit narrative donor reports, liaising with the finance department regarding financial reporting to ensure that financial reports are submitted on time, in adherence with financial reporting requirements, and that they correspond to the narrative reports

Timeline
This is a three-month contract based in Juba, South Sudan, starting from mid September 2024 and ending in December 2024. Start date may be adjusted for the right candidate.
Compensation
Compensation will be competitive and commensurate with experience. Payments will be structured based on deliverables, with a portion paid upon submission of proposals and the remainder upon securing funding.
