Position: Project Officer – Transformation Impact Fund (TIF)

Location:  ActionAid (AA) Global Secretariat (GS) Hub in Johannesburg, London or Nairobi or AA country offices

Contract duration: 12 months Fixed Term Contract (Working 17-21 hours per week)

Entry Salary:  Grade C, Salary is locally determined

Job Description

The Role

This role is responsible for the coordination, planning, implementation, development of Monitoring Evaluation and Learning (MEL) frameworks and reporting on the Transformation Impact Fund (TIF). Additionally, to support countries understand, apply, and utilize the TIF guidelines to access funds and accelerate programme impact.

What we are looking for:

  • Proven experience of using Human Rights Based Approach- (HRBA) in designing and implementing development programmes in the global South, with clear hands-on experience of implementing or directly supporting the whole programme/project cycle from end to end.
  • Experience in supporting teams to develop and review concept notes with strong attention to detail when handling information and able to review a high volume of information quickly
  • Experience of providing Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) support to HRBA programmes/ projects, tracking change, evaluating shifts in power and structural changes.
  • Excellent quantitative and qualitative MEL skills and familiarity with current approaches.
  • Ability to document programme/project experiences and generate knowledge and learning to inform future of the programme/project
  • Participatory leadership style with negotiating and influencing skills – without the power of direct line management.
  • Able to work closely with others (often from a distance) to meet tight deadlines and multiple priorities; able to work collaboratively across multiple teams and levels
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills
  • Excellent written communication skills, able to convey projects in a clear, engaging way, excellent verbal communication skills, able to engage and promote dialogue between a range of stakeholders
