Principal Functions:
WWF organises a wide range of educational programme with the mission of creating a new generation of conservation and sustainability advocates through fun, engagement, and real-life experience. The incumbent will join the WWF education team to develop and implement education offerings, as well as provide administrative and coordination support for school and community-related projects.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of ocean education projects with a special focus on coral communities.
- Guide WWF centre-based, outreach, and online/digital education programs targeting schools and different sectors in the community.
- Work closely with the Oceans Conservation Team and Hoi Ha Marine Life Centre Visitor Experience Team to deliver quality education activities.
- Responsible for administrative and coordination works for education projects related to coral restoration, such as report preparation, budget control, housekeeping of project materials, and documents.
- Contribute to the development and production of WWF educational publications and online materials.
Required Functional Skills:
- Degree holder in Education, Conservation, Environmental Science, Biology, Social Science, or any discipline related to nature conservation.
- Minimum 1 year of relevant working experience, e.g., teaching at primary/secondary school, organising and leading outdoor activities, experience related to nature interpretation, or community engagement projects planning and implementation.
- Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese.
- Proficient in ordinary applications of Microsoft Office and online meeting platforms such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Google Meet.
- Physically fit to guide outdoor learning programs and willing to work in adverse weather conditions.
- Nature interpretation, first aid, swimming, or lifesaving skills would be of added benefit.
- Field experience in ecological investigation and knowledge in statistical software application for data analysis would be an advantage.
- Willing to work during weekends and public holidays.
