Cuso International will begging the implementation of the Renewed Women´s Voice and Leadership (RWVL) project, funded by the Government of Canada through Global Affairs Canada (GAC), which will be implemented by five prominent organizations that work to defend the rights of women, girls and LGBTQI+ in Peru and 150 local women´s rights organizations in 18 regions of Peru to further promote feminist agendas and GE.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

Reporting to the Project Manager (PM), the Project Officer (PO) will be responsible to support the implementation of activities and deliverables under RWVL.

KEY RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Support in the development of annual work plans and annual budgets working closely with the Country Representative (CR), PM, Finance Officer (FO) and five implementing partners (IP).
  • Support the PM in the implementation of activities according to annual work plans and budget and identify mitigation strategies when necessary.
  • Support the PM in the implementation of monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning (MEAL) system, including tracking and evaluating progress of indicators and targets.
  • Support the PM in the development of mid-year and annual reports for international donor, including collecting data/information from five IP.
  • Support in the implementation of communication strategy in coordination with PM and Communications Team based at Cuso Headquarters.
  • Participate in RWVL Project Management Committee and Project Steering Committee as required.
  • Analyze and maintain strong understanding of feminist, Indigenous women and LGBTQI+ right’s movement in Peru, with focus on advancing GE agendas, prevention of gender-based violence (GBV) and women’s rights and leadership.
  • Collaborate and actively participate in national and regional networks, coalitions, alliances, meetings, forums, debates or any other events pertaining to the RWVL project.
  • Provide cover for other colleagues, as necessary.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Education:

  • A university degree, such as International Development, Social Work or Gender Studies and relevant combination of studies and experience.

Knowledge:

  • An excellent understanding and experience working in GE and social inclusion in Peru with specific focus on the women’s movement in Peru, prevention of GBV, advocacy and campaigning and gender policies and programs.

Experience

  • At least five (5) years’ experience implementing large bilateral funded projects, with specific experience on the development of annual work plans and budgets as well as demonstrated experience implementing MEAL systems.
  • Understanding of the Project Cycle with at least three (3) years’ experience planning, monitoring and implementing large development projects.
  • Proven experience developing mid-year and annual reports for national and international donors, including collecting data/information on results achieved and progress made.
  • Experience maintaining strong relationships with project partners, including experience with civil society and local and national governments.

Abilities:

  • Fluency in Spanish, English is desired.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to negotiate, resolve conflicts, coach, mobilize and develop positive relationships with others internally and externally.
  • Willingness and ability to travel within country.
