Position Overview

This position, available immediately, is an exciting opportunity to join the staff at PolicyLink. PolicyLink is seeking a Project Manager to support Sustainable Cities for All (“SC4A”), a program designed to cultivate community-driven partnerships with city governments and local elected leaders to advance racial wealth equity and climate-related outcomes for Black populations. The Project Manager will organize, manage, and plan complex projects for SC4A. The ideal candidate will have production experience and strong skills in developing and overseeing work plans along with strong coordination skills. The Project Manager will also plan and oversee logistical aspects of SC4A and coordinate and schedule initiative-related meetings.

Sustainable Cities for All (“SC4A”) is a national initiative that invests in transformational local solutions at the intersection of climate change and racial wealth equity by strengthening the capacity of relationships between cities and communities to co-create and implement solutions. The initiative will prioritize deep investment over four years in up to 25 cities with significant Black populations and high levels of climate vulnerability and racial wealth inequity. PolicyLink serves as the lead partner for SC4A and will coordinate the efforts of national, regional, and local partners to implement a portfolio of community engagements.

The Project Manager serves as backbone support across functions for SC4A. Working closely with the Managing Director for SC4A, the Project Manager proactively ensures that projects within the initiative are on track and deadlines are met in a timely fashion.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates effective communication and collaboration among different teams, departments, and stakeholders involved in the initiative and ensures that everyone is aligned with the initiative objectives and that information flows smoothly between relevant parties.
  • Plans and oversees the logistical aspects of SC4A, such as procurement and distribution of materials and ensures that all necessary resources are available when and where they are needed to support project activities.
  • Develops and maintains a detailed project schedule, including task dependencies, milestones, and deadlines; regularly updates the schedule to reflect progress and changes, and ensures that the project stays on track.
  • Coordinates and schedules project-related meetings, including team meetings, status updates, client meetings, and stakeholder reviews; ensures that meeting invitations are sent out well in advance and that the agenda is clearly defined.
  • Ensures that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and budget.
  • Conducts cost analysis, estimating expected costs for the project.
  • Develops project scopes and objectives involving all relevant stakeholders, delegates tasks, and ensures technical feasibility.
  • Creates and maintains comprehensive project documentation.
  • Conducts risk assessments; reports identified risks to management; provides recommendations for mitigation of risk.
  • Addresses questions, concerns, and/or complaints throughout the project.
  • Acts as a liaison between company, customers, and vendors.
  • Reports and escalates to management as needed.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with external partners.
  • Measures project performance using appropriate systems, tools, and techniques.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, local, industry, contractual, and company regulations, standards, specifications, and best practices.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education and Experience Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, which may include computer science, business, or engineering, desirable.
  • At least three years of related experience required.
  • PMP, PgMP, CAPM, and/or comparable project management certifications highly desirable.

Work Environment

  • Reports to the Managing Director for SC4A.
  • This position is a remote position, with travel required.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $90,000 – 115,000 based on experience.
