About the role:

You will play a leading role within our high performing and collaborative Project team. You will have accountability for some of our most impressive and demanding projects. You will be a role model as a talented expert who is a trusted source of advice. Using your strong interpersonal and influencing skills, you will provide direction to ensure effective and efficient project delivery, alongside senior team members. You will also have demonstrated strong commercial acumen in contract management and developing effective and trusting supply partner relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, manage and report on all aspects of project and program engagement from planning, external client relationships, communications, resources, budget, change, risks and issues.
  • Set and continually manage project and program expectations while delegating and managing deliverable with team members.
  • Attend site meetings, client progress meetings and risk reduction meetings, liaise with our company Quantity Surveyors on compilation, issue and management of Early Warnings and Compensation Events.
  • Prepare estimates and detailed project plan for all phases of the project.
  • Procure adequate resources to achieve project objectives in planned timeframes.
  • Provide status reporting regarding project milestones, deliverable, dependencies, risks and issues, communicating across management.
  • Manage project scope and changes, particularly where contracts are managed under formal arrangements i.e., NEC.
  • Lead and manage the internal quality control checks / evaluate projects and associated documentation and participate in quality issue resolution.
  • Monitor, track and control outcomes to resolve issues, as well as being flexible and adaptable to overcome any barriers you may come up against whilst delivering projects.
  • Develop and deliver progress reports to various audiences on current resource requirements to the Project Delivery and HR teams at Tender stage, and ensuring costs are correct and enough time is allowed to be able to resource the right number of staff for future projects.
  • Supporting the Head of projects with implementing new processes to ensure best practice is being conducted by all site staff.

About you:

Having strong communication and management skills, you will have the ability to follow direction from senior management, working to tight deadlines and have a history of successfully promoting teamwork. An excellent problem solver with a keen enthusiasm to be able to create a positive and dynamic working environment is key for us. You will also be a leading example for cost control, managing budgets and ensuring projects run smoothly for the organisation.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Previous experience in a similar role within the construction or environmental industry.
  • A degree or qualification in project management or related subject.
  • SMSTS/CSCS card (desirable)
  • Full UK driving licence & use of own vehicle.

Job type: Permanent – Full time.

Start date: February/March 2024

Salary: £40,000 - £50,000

Location: Home based – travel to site as and when required.
