All Hands and Hearts is a disaster relief nonprofit. Our program bases are located in the communities we serve, and depending on the role you apply for you may be required to visit and/or live in our communal program environments. Please note that vaccination is required for all in-person work environments, including program bases and offices. You will also be expected to adhere to particular safety protocols (including relating to COVID-19), and should understand your responsibility for the safety of yourself and others around you. We will always provide an option for travel-exempt staff to join meetings and events virtually, to ensure we provide an inclusive environment for those who are unvaccinated or at high risk.

The start date for this position is ASAP.  Not open to US residents.

Position Purpose

A versatile position within a dynamic nonprofit that provides community-inspired, volunteer-powered disaster relief. The position is full-time and is responsible for developing and overseeing the response projects to help impacted communities and managing the construction team.

Reporting Relationships

  • Reports to  Program Director
  • Roles reporting to position  Response Coordinator, Field Coordinator
  • Approximate number of reports  2-6

Essential Functions

  • Develop the project scopes-of-work, milestones, and detailed timeline and budget and track these accurately, updating the necessary tracking systems e.g. Salesforce, MS Project.

  • In cooperation with the Program Director, oversee implementing the project whilst adhering to the approved timeline and budget constraints.

  • Manage and coordinate the program work queue through planning and execution of the work of the Field Coordination team and by liaising with the Community Coordinator and Response Coordinators

  • Establish and develop clear work and safety practices for the project and communicate these with site teams (Response Coordinator, Field Coordinator, and volunteer team leaders)

  • Support the Program Director in the development, implementation, and review of the Health, Safety and Security procedures for base and sites.

  • Recruit and train project team members to ensure compliance with project standards in safety and work quality.

  • Establish assessment criteria and manage and support the project team to carry out assessments and beneficiary selection processes to identify and implement additional projects. Continuously develop and evaluate the project scope, quality and impact, through a meaningful monitoring and evaluation framework.

  • Provide supportive leadership, manage a diverse staff team, volunteers and local staff and empower them to carry out their work effectively and efficiently

  • Manage and support the Response Coordinators and Field Coordinators to implement efficient procurement processes for the project sites. Design and oversee the process of hiring and vetting subcontractors.

  • Compile weekly and fortnightly progress reports for the Program Director.

  • Support the Program Director in compiling program specific fortnightly reports for the organization

  • Support the Community Coordinator in the development and implementation of renewal projects

  • We understand vaccination is the best way to protect our beneficiaries, community members, staff and volunteers. Therefore, we require all staff members working in in-person environments (including program staff, office staff, team meetings and program visits) to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Subject to applicable guidance, the term fully vaccinated currently refers to when an individual has received all recommended Covid-19 vaccines, including any booster dose(s) when eligible.

Position Requirements

  • Education  Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.
  • Related Experience Must have project management, as well supervisory experience in a professional setting. Experience in working in IDP or Refugee Camps  and WASH programs preferred. All Hands and Hearts experience is preferable, but not required. Previous International travel preferred.
  • Special Competencies/Certifications  Must be able to secure and maintain appropriate visas. Turkish fluency desired. Driver’s license required. Excellent written and oral communication skills and confident working with Google Suite, Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel, and AutoCAD. Knowledge of MS Project is an advantage. Applicants need to be well organized and have a flexible approach to managing multiple tasks and prioritizing them appropriately. The individual is able to manage a large workload and perform in a fast-paced environment. Strong leadership skills with a proactive approach to identifying and solving problems. Needs a developed and clear management style.
  • Work Environment/Conditions  Based on program; communal living environment. High-stress situations.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay rate is $1,500-$2,000 USD/ month, based on position, skills and experience
