Project Management Team Lead

Specifically, the job requires taking ownership of the following:

Project oversight

  • Review and sign off on several aspects of the project such as bill of material (BOM), project task order (PTO), variations requests, construction timeline, subcontractor payments, etc.
  • Manage, negotiate and enforce contracts with EPCs and any subcontractors, suppliers, and service providers to optimize the project costs, scope and timelines.
  • Ensure compliance with quality and EHS standards, regulations and requirements throughout the project lifecycle.

Team management:

  • Hire, lead and manage a team of project managers responsible for solar projects.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and technical expertise to project managers.
  • Coach and mentor project managers to support their professional development and career growth.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and knowledge sharing within the project management team.

Stakeholder management

  • Foster positive relationships with stakeholders to support successful project outcomes.
  • Collaborate with clients, EPCs, and regulatory authorities to address project requirements and resolve any issues.
  • Communicate project updates to management and stakeholders

Performance monitoring

  • Develop monitoring and reporting frameworks tracking team and individual performance.
  • Control and enforce data hygiene and timely reports on project progress, variations and challenges.
  • Ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery in line with targets and objectives.
  • Identify opportunities for processes, methodologies and documentations optimisation.

Technical expertise:

  • Provide technical expertise and support to project managers, assisting with complex technical challenges, quality/EHS standards, design optimization, and troubleshooting.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes relevant to PV solar projects.
  • Participate in industry conferences, seminars, and networking events to enhance industry knowledge and build professional relationships.

Location: Gurgaon, Pune, Bangalore or Chennai, with frequent country-wide travel. Some international travel may also be required. Hybrid work arrangement.

Hours: Full time, five days per week.

Job Requirements:

  • B.Eng or M.Eng in Civil Engineering or Electrical Engineering or similar, with minimum 10+ years experience in the  C&I and Open Access solar space in India.
  • Management experience of an engineering team and a portfolio of projects
  • Proven track record of delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Knowledge of solar technology, project financing, Energy Yield Assessment and regulatory requirements.
  • A dynamic personality, able to support with Project Development if needed, and liaise with various stakeholders
  • MSOffice, Google Docs/Sheets, Helioscope proficiency
