INTRODUCTION
For our anticipated new project called "Promoting Inclusive and Culture-Based Practices for Conflict Prevention, and Resolution through Youth-Focused Peacebuilding in Indonesia and Timor-Leste", ChildFund is recruiting a project coordinator to lead the implementation in Timor-Leste with close coordination on the Project manager (multi-Country) based in Indonesia
The project's objective: Empowered and connected, youth-focused CSOs actively contribute to peacebuilding, conflict prevention, preparedness, and resolution by integrating culture-based practices (Piil Pesenggiri in Lampung, Tara Bandu & Nahe Biti Bo’ot in Liquiçá) in communities. And focuses on the following outcomes
1 – Traditional conflict prevention and resolutions practices and underlying values, gender equality, and social inclusion (GESI) assessed against the background of current conflicts.
2 – Improved capacity of youth-led CSOs and community actors to promote peacebuilding, conflict prevention, preparedness, and resolution:
3 – Strengthened peace education with a focus on culture-based practices in secondary schools
4 – Public narrative and dialogue enriched by youth-led CSOs, youth changemakers, and networks on peacebuilding, conflict prevention, preparedness, and resolution toward traditional leaders, administrators, and communities at large
The Project in Timor Leste is funded by the European Union and will be implemented in partnership with Ba Futuru and Belun
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The project coordinator is responsible for the planning and implementation, monitoring and evaluation and Learning (MEL) of the EU Peace and Culture Project activities in Timor Leste. The Project coordinator will liaise with local partners Promoting Inclusive and Culture-Based Practices for Conflict Prevention, and Resolution through Youth-Focused Peacebuilding. The project coordinator ensures strong collaboration with the relevant line ministries, adequate program visibility, and alignment with EU donor guidelines and ChildFund Australia Sector and Child safeguarding procedures.
