WeRobotics is a social impact organization that brings together local experts, communities, and activists. We co-create and facilitate an inclusive network of independent, locally led and demand-driven knowledge hubs: the “Flying Labs®” network. Flying Labs strengthen local expertise in the use of drones, robotics, data, and AI for positive social change. They demonstrate The Power of Local. Flying Labs are operational in 35+ countries in Africa, Latin America, Asia and beyond.

We have an exciting opportunity to be part of the WeRobotics’ team as a Project Coordinator Intern who will work with WeRobotics and assist with the day-to-day coordination, administration, and activities of the organization. The position is ideal for individuals who approach their work in a creative and proactive manner. This learning opportunity allows the Project Coordinator Intern to step foot in an international not-for-profit organization, working alongside a dedicated team spread across the globe. As this position will not be technical, the candidate does not need to have drone knowledge, experience, or technical skills.

We are looking for a Project Coordinator Intern to work remotely who:

  • Is native or proficient in English and has great writing skills, with attention to detail.
  • Has University-level education or equivalent.
  • Has a first working experience (minimum 1 year) that can relate to this internship position.
  • Has project management and data management skills.
  • Is at ease with Project Management software, and Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Drive, etc.). Experience with using Slack and Zoom is a plus.
  • Is a strong communicator including interpersonal communication, and at ease with different communication styles.
  • Has effective time management and logical decision-making ability.
  • Is highly organized, proactive, takes initiative and has an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Has strong work ethic and the ability to handle peak work times.
  • Loves working with people from diverse places and cultures, and is comfortable interacting on regular video calls and webinars.
  • Can think critically, innovate, and problem solve with high attention to detail.
  • Is equipped to work remotely with minimal supervision and has access to a computer, Internet connection for communication and video calls.

Location: Remote; reliable Internet connectivity and quiet work space required. Candidates from the continents where the Flying Labs are active (Africa, Asia and Latin America) are especially encouraged to apply.

Contract: Full time paid internship for a duration of 6 months. Depending on performance and available funding, this internship can evolve into a permanent position.

Roles and Accountabilities include:

  • Organize and plan project and program activities focused on weekly tasks.
  • Perform specific project management tasks on WeRobotics internal and external projects, assisting core team in maintaining schedules and milestone management.
  • Provide content and administrative support for WeRobotics subgrants and microgrants.
  • Perform general coordination, facilitation, and administrative tasks.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining project documentation and preparing project reports and presentations for stakeholders.
  • Conduct research and analysis on project requirements and objectives.
