Project Biologist - Trainer

About the opportunity

SWCA Environmental Consultants is seeking a Sustainable Landscape Maintenance Trainer in our Honolulu, Hawaii office. The successful candidate should have a strong background in landscape maintenance in Hawaii, specifically mowing and edging of turf, weeds and native vegetation.

This is a temporary, part-time, hourly position that will report to the project task lead.

What you will accomplish

• Present five trainings on topics ranging from mowing and edging in landscape maintenance zones to native plants in the landscape, with a focus on state highways rights-of-ways.
• Review and revise (as needed) PowerPoint presentations on subject matter related to mowing and edging in the landscape maintenance zones or native plant vegetation.
• Develop and lead hands-on activities for training attendees on mowing and edging in the landscape maintenance zones or native plant vegetation for five trainings.

Experience and qualifications for success

• 10+ years in landscape maintenance landscaping in Hawaii, with an expertise in mowing and edging of turf, weeds, and native vegetation.
• Experience developing and leading trainings for landscape maintenance professionals in Hawaii.
• Experience with landscaping requirements for mowing and edging of turf, weeds and native vegetation in Hawaii.Familiarity with Hawaii State Landscape Maintenance Contractor requirements
• Working knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint software.
• Adept at working with a variety of colleagues, clients, and agency representatives.
• Ability to travel to neighbor islands.
