We pride ourselves on bringing independence to an extremely polarised discussion and holding policy makers to account on their promises. E3G is consistently ranked as one of the top-ten most influential environmental think tanks in the world by the University of Pennsylvania’s Global Go To Think Tank Index.
E3G offers a dynamic and fast paced working environment that will value your insight, initiative and collaboration wherever you are in the organisation.
Role Overview
The global energy market has made significant strides in the last decade to adding more renewable capacity to grids, and in developing the policy and financial support structure that will enable the energy system of the future to grow. The ability of the European energy system as a whole to weather the disruption caused by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine was due in no small part to the ability of the system to shift to renewables.
Thanks to this progress, a next stage of ‘deep energy transition’ is now imminent in many parts of the world. Clean energy deployment starts to affect the revenues and stability of the fossil fuel-based economy. To be successful, it thus needs to be built on fundamental system transformation and changing paradigms on concepts such as energy security, infrastructure planning, macroeconomic assumptions and capital allocation.
The Energy Transition Programme Lead will play a key role in E3G’s journey towards a next generation of analysis and change making in the energy transition as it brings together its work on the energy transition in a single programmatic area. They will play a central role in facilitating the development of this new playbook in E3G’s Energy Transition Petal.
