ABOUT KNOCKOUT ENTERPRISE

OK currently offers a variety of evolving program options. Our vocational focus is on Knockout Enterprise. Our enterprise thrives in a blended work environment where people of all abilities work together to run a successful food-based business that features three connected initiatives: the Knockout Farm, Knockout Pickles, and the Knockout Kitchen.

POSITION TITLE

PROGRAM & ENTERPRISE LEADER

DIRECT SUPERVISOR: Coordinator(s) - Program & Enterprise

JOB PURPOSE

The Program & Enterprise Leader will work in multiple settings, under the direction of multiple coordinators to plan, develop, lead, support, and enhance a safe, interactive, and engaging program and enterprise experience for the Warriors that are enrolled in OK Programs and employed by Knockout Enterprise.

  • Ability to commit to a full time workload of up to 40 hours per week in onsite programs

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Ability to work independently on projects and assignments
  • Ability to work effectively with teams - will include OKP and Knockout groups, various other staff members, board members, volunteers, and other community members
  • Proficient or comfort in becoming proficient in providing all variety of support to Warriors of all abilities
  • Strong problem-solving skills, judgment, and ethical standards
  • Ability to maintain flexible work schedule – to include some weekends and evening hours during peak enterprise activity
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and take part in physical labor in all weather conditions
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong leadership and organizational skills, ability to work independently, and ability to work effectively with team members

PREFERRED

  • A valid driver’s license
  • First Aid and CPR certification - if not held upon hire, complete training within 90 days
  • Seizure first aid certification -  if not held upon hire, complete training within 90 days
  • Food handler or Food manager certification
  • Background or experience working in programs for young people with mixed abilities in an educational or recreational setting
  • Past experience either working or volunteering with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a school or recreational program setting
  • Ideal candidate will have experience in urban agriculture, gardening or horticulture
  • Ideal candidate will have experience working in restaurants or other culinary equivalent
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Office platform and Google applications

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES - OK PROGRAMS

Program Planning/Coordination

  • Work cooperatively with the program coordinator and other program leaders in program planning and implementation to achieve the goals and objectives of the program as set forth by Opportunity Knocks
  • Collaborate with the program coordinator to implement pre and post-assessments as part of the lesson plans
  • Adhere to specific planning requirements, criteria, and deadlines developed during program planning meetings
  • Create and implement appropriate daily activity plans
  • Work to develop daily activities that are accessible to all Warriors
  • Coordinate opportunities to utilize volunteers within OK programs
  • Assist Program coordinator in day to day planning

Direct Service

  • Coordinate and facilitate designated OK initiatives (i.e. peer lead planning)
  • Lead activities during Opportunity Knocks programs, and when not  leading an activity work to engage Warriors in OK programs
  • Engage with Warriors during programs
  • Bridge interactions between Warriors and other community members that may connect to programs - may include volunteers, partners, interns, etc.
  • Assist Warriors in making  transitions during OK programs
  • Be open to working with Warriors of all abilities
  • Be available to assist Warriors in fulfilling their specific toileting and/or feeding needs during OK programs
  • Foster a safe and supportive learning environment for all  Warriors during OK programs

Team Collaboration/Work Ethic

  • Participate in the group program planning in OK programs
  • Attend staff meetings, planning meetings that may include but are not limited to staff planning meetings, parent meetings, vocation, and volunteer meetings, and community networking meetings
  • Attend and assist in facilitating in-service training
  • Understands the rights to privacy, demonstrates confidentiality, and respect for differences among all persons interacting with individuals with disabilities.
  • Special projects may be assigned, expectations will be set forth at the onset of each project.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES - KNOCKOUT ENTERPRISE

General Enterprise

  • Be prepared to activate within all high-priority Knockout Farm and kitchen activities as part of the operational team, under the direction of the coordinators

  • Work collaboratively with the other members of the social enterprise team to execute the enterprise strategy and initiatives

  • Support the organizational effort to include engaging and meaningful volunteer opportunities that connect to Knockout activities

Supported Employment

  • Assume support role in onboarding, orientation and ongoing growth objectives for all Warriors at Work
  • Work under the direction of the coordinators to coach and support the operational staff that participate in farm and kitchen activities
  • Participate in developing supported employment strategy for Warriors at Work, focusing on installing organizational and individual goals
  • Support administration of supported employment assessments and performance reviews
  • Work collaboratively within the OK Training-Professional Development plan to represent knockout training objectives
  • Manage HR-related duties, as assigned

OKP-KO Collaboration

  • Work cooperatively under the direction of the program and enterprise coordinators and in collaboration with other program leaders to develop and enhance high-quality program and enterprise experiences for Warriors, both on the farm and in the kitchen
  • Work to support development of farm and kitchen activities that are safe and accessible to all Warriors

Be prepared to perform other general duties as needed and adjust schedules between both OK Programs and Knockout Enterprises, as needed.
